Masumi At Jabe 2015
Category: camping

(E:uchina) came out to visit us at Jabe for the week.

We took a trip to Hawaii and ate strawberries on the ocean.

We also spent a lot of time wrapping ourselves up in blue tarp and pretending to be drowning victims.

I already miss it.

Black Mountain Hike
Category: hiking

While at Jabe Pond we made a trip out to black mountain for a day hike. The weather was pretty awesome but I was drenched by the end even without the rain.

Its a pretty awesome look out over Lake George. I would suggest checking it out.

Arriving at Jabe Pond 2015
Category: camping
We arrived at camp to find the parking lot full of forest rangers. Turned out their was a forest fire on one of the hills surrounding the pond. The forests were so dry with the lack of rain. Even the pine trees were starting to look yellow. I could see how it could easily catch fire.

Luckily, they got it out and we didn't die.

Ladies Only Hats at Walmart
Category: clothing

Not sure if this is in response to Target ungendering their goods or not, but now many of the baseball and cowboy hats in the Walmart sporting section are clearly sticker-labeled as ladies only with a pink "ladies" sticker. So for all you guys who wanted a blue trimmed Ford logo camouflaged hat, put it down - ladies only.

What's next, labeling all pants as men's only?

Who do they think this is helping? Its not like women and girls are held back from wearing men's hats and require the sticker for it to be "OK". I also don't see the sticker stopping any guy who really wants a pink trimmed hat from getting it. So who is it for, the macho hunter who can't realize for himself that this hat might be a bit girly for the weekend hunt who the bros?

Squeaky Wheel Peep Show
Category: art

The Squeaky Wheel Peep Show fundraiser over at 500 Seneca St on Saturday was pretty awesome.

First, the VIP room was amazing. The atmosphere, the food from Coco and the cocktails were unbelievable. If that was the entire event I would have gone.

The art installations, the center of the entire event, were also pretty great.

My favorites were a tie between Keith Harrington's living room setup with the corn buskers and Kleenex on the tablr, dreamland' BDSM Pancake video, and the Dirty Thirty gameshow.

Watching (e:Dianne) smash eggs in her face during the Dirty Thirty gameshow made me cringe. For her sake I'm glad she didn't have to pass onto the next round.

I feel like next time around, I am going to put one on.
