Hike at the Gorge
Category: hiking

Last Saturday we went hiking at the gorge with (e:yesthatcasey). I don't know if I've ever seen the water so crazy and high. I wish you could get in some sort of hamster bubble and get tossed around in it.

Of course an hour hike also meant we bought a weeks worth of snacks before we got there.

Emily's race
Category: sports

Last Saturday we drove =' up to Tonawanda creek to watch my sister's race against UB. We missed the one she won but got there in time to watch the second one. she stayed very sporty while I never wanted to row again after high school. The races are fun but no way am I ever getting up that early in my life.

it was pretty warm, so we got drive and Frisbee and sport ball with the dogs. My bro almost crashed the drone into the park shelter.

On the way home we stopped at a fancy plant nursery on the Boulevard. (e:) Paul and I went a little crazy with the berries - we got plants for blueberries, loganberries and honeyberries.

For dinner terry made an amazing stir fry.

Trashy flowers
Category: allentown

I walked by the little park at Allen and Main on the way home from work. I'm so used to expecting trash on Allen that when I saw it was covered in paper scraps I wasn't surprised.

Then I took a closer look - it wasn't paper but instead flowers bursting out of the grass. Who'd a thunk?

PS sorry I've abandoned you (e:strip) hopefully I will be done with Squeaky Wheel and 70+ hour weeks soon and adopt you again. <3

Hiking at 18 mile creek
Category: hiking
Last Friday, (e:paul) and I took a trip down to 18 Mile Creek. It wasn't as thawed as we thought it was going to be but it was still a good one.

I never had been down there so the fact that there are some hills so close to the city surprised me. The water and waterfalls might actually would have been nice if it wasn't clearly sewer overflow from melting snow ;(.

Luckily they're turning the headwaters into a new county park.

So foggy on the skyway down. You couldn't see anything. Glad I wasn't driving.
