While doing some last minute Halloween shopping with (e:paul) and (e:flacidness), we came across this awesome new thrift store in the old Rosa's plaza at Sheridan and the Boulevard. It was huge, super clean and had a ton of decent clothes. I would have gotten some if we didn't have too many. There even was this guy buying a really nice road bike when we got there.
The only gross part was they were constantly spraying air freshener around the store.

In contrast, we stopped at Michael's before and it was full of brand new garbage. Somewhere in the world, people are producing plastic fruit destined for the landfill.

Petrified scooterCategory: bugs
While moving the server back into the basement with (e:paul), I cleaned up a few cobwebs with a stick. Like some sort of disguting cotton candy, I wrapped it around a stick. Somehow I found this petrified scooter who managed to get caught in a web.

Biketober fest and the beer bikeCategory: bikes
On Wednesday, (e:terry) and I made it out to Go Bike's Biketober fest at the new Flying Bison brewery in Larkinville. We met up with the usual bike people - I also got to talk to two of the bike and ped engineers for the city. Apparently they had heard about my winter biking and were really interested in hiring me.
Outside, the new Buffalo beer bike was out giving rides. It's a lot like the ones in Portland and Germany - a driver serves drinks to ten or so people who pedal and ride the bike. The max speed is only 5 mph but it's so freaking awesome. Sadly they were done giving rides by the time we saw it.

Empty boxesCategory: environment
(e:terry) ordered his Chun-Li costume off party city's website. They thought this box was reasonable for a flat, unbreakable costume:
