Sick Days
Category: work
I have so much sick time but can never use it. The last two days I called in sick but ended up working 5.5 hours on monday and 10 hours today. My personal time expires Dec 5. I have 40 hours to burn and probably no option to use any of it. Patrick and I are literally working right now. I am actually working two jobs tonight. I would kill for an off the grid camping trip.

My October Cold
Category: sick
I swear this happens every year at the same time.

It was especially bad because I am allergic to latex and the wet paint smell makes me ill but we got the low VOC one. That plus all the dust from construction added to stupid cold I've had since Friday which has been a pain in butt.

I had every intention of going to work today but I couldn't stop sneezing and coughing so I figured I would stay home and not infect more people. I also had planned on going to see Rusko play at Town Ballroom. I ended up working half the day from home but you can't really go out from home, so we missed Rusko.

Not sure about tommorow, back to the nyquil.

Bathroom Complete
Category: bathroom

Other than scrubbing a little more grout haze off the floor we are done. (e:Joe), (e:terry) and I did so much work in since the contractors left its unbelievable.

Overall I am really happy with everything. I know its not 100% historical style but I think it still looks classy. I fixed the white spot near the ceiling in the back of the shower since these pics were taken. I live the mirror on the arm between the vanity mirrors. It makes things like cutting the back of your hair or cleaning your ears so much easier.

As I was taking a bath in the warm sun this morning and stepped out onto the heated tile floor, I hoped this is beginning to fixing everything in the house.

I learned a lot from this project. From sealing tile to installing towel racks and hooking up all the compression fittings and drains after we moved the vanity and tub. I also decided that next time I am going to do it myself as I felt the workers were not as carwful with details as I would have been. Like the threshold being too close to the water or tub being pressed right up against the wall for no apparent reason. We also had to dig out the tiles that were hidden under grout before sealing. Basically they saved us a lot of time but at the same time cost a lot of money and worked much more sloppily than I would have.

Now if only I could get over the stupid cold I have.

Apparently they don't work under 70 degrees. I still had it on from the summer.

Never mind, LG is not on the list.

They should be operational year round. Find it odd that they can't operate under 70 degrees as humidity can be a problem at all temperatures. There was a huge recall on them and you should check and see if yours is in it because they are a fire hazard.
