Squaw Island road saltI can't think of any reason why they need to salt the bike path like this. I suspect home land security in their efforts to destroy all vegetation in the area did this but maybe not. I'm really confused as to why it was spread around these bolders.
This is really gross and bad for bicycles, dogs feet, shoes and it can't be good for the nearby river.
You can really see the extent of it in this video.

smelled like piss. Why did they ever think it was a good idea to have fabric seats?

On the bus... They are all supposed to be that way... Maybe it is because I'm not overweight but the bus stops or turns and I slide on the plastic ones not fun... Long ride argh....... The Bus all ways smells of something just a matter of what.... Some times they clean them and that cleaner makes it smell.......

Yuck.
Yuck.
I apologized and explained because I don't want to piss off anyone. But I've reviewed what i said and I'm confused. This is my post on facebook. "Now more than ever, I need to remember to never automatically assume malevolence where incompetence is a possibility."
This is my comment on estrip. "My guess is that the cause is user error combined with hardware incompatibility. I think a full size street snow plow/salt truck was assigned to treat the bike path and the operator(s) didn't give a damn on how the salt was spread. A corollary of Occam's Razor might be never assume malevolence when stupidity is a possibility."
I am moved to ask do you honestly think that incompetence=stupidity? I don't. And I hope that you don't as well.
I apologize for confusing you. It was certainily not my intention. I'm a simple guy. The posts and comments on estrip are about stuff on estrip. The posts and comments on Facebook are about stuff on Facebook.
On e-strip in response to your post, I am talking about workers not giving a damn on how they do their jobs. One may do things intentionally without caring about the results of an actions. Often, this is a result of stupidity. You were there, I was not. Thus, your analysis of the scene is probably better than mine. Since I was a kid, I've been fascinated by snow plows and I know a bit how they work. One of my neighbors drives a snow plow for the city of Buffalo. Salters throw salt in surprising patterns at surprising distances. If you say it wasn't done by a snow plow salter, I certainly won't disagree with you.
The Facebook post was written before I wrote my comment here but posted afterwards because I got distracted by your post here.
Since you must know my Facebook post is a reminder to myself about my boss. More than one person has told me that I shouldn't assume that I am being screwed over intentionally when I am feeling that I am being screwed over. And, just for the record, I feel that I was screwed over intentionally by my boss on Friday. Hopefully, he doesn't read estrip.
I'm confused. What are you even talking about and why did you just repost your comment on face book just now? There were areas of salt that clearly were done intentionally. I don't know the reason this was done just documenting that it was there and pointing out the problems as a result. There could be a good reason for it.
My guess is that the cause is user error combined with hardware incompatibility. I think a full size street snow plow/salt truck was assigned to treat the bike path and the operator(s) didn't give a damn on how the salt was spread. A corollary of Occam's Razor might be never assume malevolence when stupidity is a possibility.
I wonder if it was purposely spread under the fence or if it just collected there as the snow melted. That is a crazy huge amount of salt.
