It's official. It's virtually impossible to be in a bad mood after listening to "Raspberry Beret".
A good day is assured!
Addendum: "The Book Of Love" by Peter Gabriel brings me to tears. Everytime.

It's a great day in the mornin'!
My mom used to say that in lieu of cursing...but it's only on my mind because I watched the original "The Bad Seed" last night, and the language was so rich, the diction, perfect. It's hard to believe Americans used to talk like that.
I blame the internets.

Right now there is no way to do that from the phone.. On the desktop you can just drag a picture to your avatar when logged in and viewing your blog on the nine mobile site.

You still have Rhoda!
From what I understand, that was the equivalent of an M.Night moment.

Public TransportationCategory: musings, random
Again, big shouts for the estrip welcome!
The thing about public transportation is this: when it's crowded, and your feet hurt from working, and you're fed up with the unwashed masses, do you stand, or risk having someone's ass staring you impolitely in the face for 45 minutes? I mean, I'll eat ass under the right circumstances, but THESE are not them.

Here a day pass is $4 and for the entire month is $64 but is a plastic card now they do have a 30 day pass but it is paper.....
Now in terms of prices maybe going up there wasn't a sure plan last I read they had a bunch of different ways of cutting stuff/raising prices.... Now they say there is some huge budget gap they have to cover.... But they have costs Rochester Doesn't like cops (with underground trains you need your own force really but as many as they have not sure) they are also the owners or the Runners of the Buffalo Airport.... Never been to Rochester but I'm guessing one of the things that also saves them money is that it is just Rochester... It would be like if all the Buffalo buses stopped at the city line.....
I've been on packed buses every morning I Pick to stand my self but that is just me......

That is a sweet bus-pass rate! Weekly pass costs ~$29 in NYC. I have never bought one here because I mostly walk..

I pay $16.50 for seven days, unlimited rides on everything. As Sam Walton and his ilk have taught us, it's best to buy in bulk...

It really depends on the person but I usually like to stand so I can see what is going on around me better.

I like walking > trains > buses in that order. :) Planes are too expensive.
How much is the fare in Baltimore? Is it the same for buses and trains? It's $1.75 here and I remember it's $2.75 or something in NYC.

They are raising fares AGAIN?? How much is it going to be now? 2.75?? All this while Rochacha was just $1 (because of the clever no transfer-ticket plan) I would rather pay $1 for ALL my transfers than $2.75 for 3 stops. :/

Lls@third world...
Yea, it's a small price to pay, taking the bus...the rail is actually much better, though, excepting its limited range. I chalk it up to the rampant gentrification that has plagued my fair borough for years.

I always seem to be on crowded buses in Buffalo, not 3rd world crowded usually but sometimes it comes close. I feel bad for you if you are on a 45 minute bus commute because I hate being on public transportation, but not enough to take on the expense of a car.
Going into winter always sucks for me and having to take the bus again rather than bike makes it worse. I do walk a lot more in the winter. It really sucks for people that the fares are going up too because that is a lot of money for people who are already struggling. It will still remain to be way less expensive than car ownership though.

You make a very valid point...alas, I am actually in Baltimore, MD, so our mass transit system is..well..laden with ass. Not the good kind, either. Those actually get rides in cars.

Hmm.. you do have 360 degrees to choose from. :)
are you in buffalo? I seldom see buses or trains here crowded on a regular day. Downtown event-day is another story though...
