I've been trying to increase the amount of biking-as-transportation I do and I've found that bike racks are not evenly distributed around the city. At the First Niagara where we have our business account, we have to use a street sign. The account rep we spoke with said the racks have been stolen in the past and they don't want to keep replacing them. At the Washington Street post office, we use the hand rail. Allentown has lots of bike racks.
Well I can confirm that the First niagara manager did say that the bike rack was stolen, she seemed pretty genuine about it.
Can't believe I'm going to say something nice about the co-op but it is in a good part of town.. So guessing it has a good bike rack... Some how don't think hardly anyone bikes to Tops Niagara... Wonder how long the bike rack has been in bad shape a day or a year.... I worked with this Puerto Rican (know that spelling has to be wrong)Women who said that she doesn't go to Tops Niagara cause there are to Many Puerto Ricans. -->there so I figure well them I'm not going.... Granted that was years ago and it has gone up scale a bit but... I have had a problem there so I don't shop there... But the real reason I don't go is the two other tops are better for how I travel....
I'd call bullshit on that story too.
They stole my recycle bin. Maybe there is a gang of low-level eco-terrorists afoot.
Something is so totally wrong with this bike racks if the racks themselves are getting stolen. I mean who would even steal a bikerack. I almost sounds like a bullshit story. I guess maybe for scrap metal.
