Charter and Code of the City Of Buffalo, NYCategory: codes
I was looking for the "CHARTER AND CODE OF THE CITY OF
BUFFALO" So I went to the city of buffalo site to try and find the entire ch and after a but of searching I found a link on the city of Buffalo site that takes you to an external site with the codes.
Either way here is the charter and code of the city of Buffalo in case anyone else is looking for them.
Here is the online viewer version:

And here is the basic viewer version:

What's even more ridiculous is that the terms of service say this might not even be the most current or legislation.
It seems like the city should have to just provide the most current version of this information in a single document format on their own website. Is it really so expensive to maintain this compared to farming it out to vet another vendor?

The on-line municipal codes ("E-Codes") and/or any other documents that appear on this Website may not reflect the most current legislation adopted by the municipality. General Code provides E-Codes for informational purposes only. E-Codes should not be relied upon as the definitive authority for local legislation. Additionally, the formatting and pagination of E-Codes varies from the formatting and pagination of the official copy. The official printed copy of a code of ordinances should be consulted prior to any action or decision being taken.

Buffalo 311 HolidayCategory: holidays
So the people at the church next store were parked on the grass again today but for once that is not the focus of this entry. The weird thing these ones are parked half on and half off the grass. Clearly they have enough room to just part on the stones. I wonder if the problem is that the edge of the grass is muddy from them driving on it, so they went to park further over to get out on more solid grass.
I decided to call 311 again but when you call today it says they are not open due to the holiday. Really? Good friday is Buffalo City holiday. That seems so ridiculous. All of their workers are Christians?

I also found a city of Buffalo Document that says parking of standing in front of a private driveway is a $20 fineable offense.

I had off but not because it was Good Friday.... It was some kind of like spring Holiday thing... It has something to do with the amount of holidays we get .... First time I've ever been off on a good friday.... It used to be a company Holiday before it was Japanese owned .... Or maybe it was when I was a temp... I think you could take the day off and it wasn't ok and you didn't get into trouble but it wasn't a day off type of thing......

The waterfront by lasalle parkCategory: buffalo
I took this pic of the waterfront near lasalle park from on top of city hall. I wonder what the part of town used to be where those apartments and the school ate located. Was lasalle park larger or were they houses that got knocked down?

A home sidewalk is actually public right of way. You are responsible for upkeep and stuff but people can use it and do not need permission.
Question is a home sidewalk you own Public or Private? I think what that means is Ice Melter is ok since it only harms the ice and snow and not sidewalk?
All the salt really spoils my shoes.
Mostly the disclaimer is to cover for the time lag between adopting a new or revised ordinance, codifying it, and posting it to the website. There's a strange little industry of municipal ordinance codification. My borough has never codified its ordinances and so no one really knows what they are unless you go look at them page by page in the ordinance book since 1871. The boro contracted the job to an outside company and it's about halfway through the codification process. Codification is how the ordinances are organized into chapters and sections out of the historical timeline of adoption, so that they can be made useful and available. I think we're getting them on CD, not online, so my dad & brother will be posting them on the community website, www.blossburg.org. Here are the codified laws of New York :::link:::
Wellsboro, Pa., (Tioga County seat) has a codified online zoning ordinance. They updated the conditional uses to include natural gas drilling in August, but the site still doesn't have the new info. The site is only usable in IE *grr* :::link:::
