Love Never Fails
Category: unnerd
I responded to someones assertion to love that read as follows:

"Love never fails. If it's not gonna matter tomorrow, make it right today ♥"

Like this:

"Love fails all the time. Sometimes we keep trying to make it right with the wrong alcoholic convict harlot theif sociopath cause we loooooove them, but no hard feelings, nothing's perfect."

Some one named Sarah responded with:

"Thats not love boo boo thats lust cause pure unadulterated love never returns to you void.."

And I was a jerk who dismissed her comment by calling her "young". Lame I know. I tried to fix things with this next bit whcih I think is apropos what with candy and cards day just around the bend.

"You're right Sarah. Dismissing someone's knowledge of anything on a the basis of youth or any quality of that individual outside of their understanding of the argument at hand is fallow. So I apologize for my gruff assessment of your view. I really don't know you, and that was rude of me. I just like to think I'm funny sometimes...and I am, just not this time.

Otherwise, I feel like l understand this emotion as well as any human can (I might be wrong). I just get perturbed when peoples romantic assessment of anything, let alone a chemical system of our physical minds denies the fact that all things can and do fail. I'm not a pessimist, I still do have hope for healthy functional love, but I can't ignore the fact that things break sometimes.

I think that when people ignore this fact it leads to greater failure. Such as loving the 'wrong' person or thing, which include all the former, but don't exclude those from the following: people who just don't love you back enough or the way you want and need. Hobbies and habits that destroy you in tiny undetectable bits or huge wave, and the list goes on. I've seen love without reason destroy lives and create wonderful things at the same time, as much as I've seen reason without love exclude a person until they've become emotionally caustic to everyone around them and them selves.

I think we're on the same team after all though. Love works sometimes, and when it does it's one of the greatest things that can be experienced by a life form on this planet ask any fat house cat. I think that was Aprils point. Still, the idea that anything is perfect is just an imperfect idea...it's kinda why I think love exists; to allow for the imperfect to stick around long enough to matter....

Ok I'm done, but stop talking bad about lust. It's just as necessary and dangerous as love, but really, lust is not what I was talking about. No one who sticks around to get abused by someone who's been drunk and out of shape for years is in a wild fit of lust. That's reaaally something else."

What do you think estrip?

PS. I missed you. You're so cute when you read lengthy stuff.
tinypliny - 02/04/11 01:37
man.. another Sarah. Around 70% of the new people I have met over the past couple months have all been Sarahs.
tinypliny - 02/04/11 01:35
Here is where you cue Haddaway. ;-)

As Much as I hate love and Hate Valentines Day (e:leetee) at the end kinda said what I was going to to say. There are different degrees of love of strengths to it... love Doesn't fail. Yes people do fall out of love but it isn't because of the love it is because of differences or things in the relationship..........
leetee - 02/03/11 12:11
i believe that the romantasized version of love is merely unrealisitic expectations wrapped up in heart shaped box with red ribbons.

expecting love or relationships to be the way they are in films, on sitcoms or even live up to the public view of what people in love show us is foolish, at best.

people inside relationships set their own rules on what is wanted and needed. without that conversation, it's all guess work and unfufilled expectations, with eventual relationship failure.

does it mean that love fails if a relationship fails. no, i don't think so. the love did not fail. it was there. what failed was relationship.

Really?
Category: nerd
Hey hey eStrippers! Tony here for some phone hate...again.

This is a fun comercial. The microsoft people had to pick some angle to market their phones on, so they decided to choose the "hey, stop using your phone so much" angle. Really?

So this phone makes me not want to use it so much, how did they go about doing that?

Oh this wooden background is my favorite on estrip ever Paul, very nice.... here's the video.

Oooh, note the sexy lady that the guy is ignoring is so hot I keep watching this video, but um, well let's go to tape.

Paul was complaining about his phone making the same noises as everyone elses phones the other day, and that that was one of the reasons he was glad to make the switch to Android. I wonder if it's enough to make him want to try a Windows 7 phone. Prolly not.

heidi - 11/16/10 21:50
I saw another Win7 phone ad on hulu that made the point of this ad much more clear. (e:fing) & (e:metalpeter) got the point of this one, altho I took it the same way (e:enknot) & (e:james) did. Let's hate some more! :-)
james - 11/11/10 19:19
I got the same thing as Tony from the ad. I thought they were selling it with an implied piece of software that keeps you off your phone so long. Which, is nice, but not ad worthy.

Microsoft is pretty famous for its shitty ads. Remember the billion dollar campaign with Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates? It was like an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm without the laughs or the tuba.

But, I don't think they are saying the phone is efficient. Most of the people in the ad are actively doing something with their phone, which has nothing to do with efficiency. Efficiency would be them pulling their phone out of their pocket, click-click, close phone, smile of satisfaction.

Or maybe they are saying that their phone is so addicting you wont notice your wife trying to fuck you.

It is all so ambiguous and confusing. WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME WINDOWS! WHAT DO YOU WAAAAAAaaaaaaaaNT!
metalpeter - 11/10/10 20:29
(e:fing) got the point of the ad. It is aimed at people who don't use there phone to talk but to do all the other stuff. The ad also implies that not only is it quicker but it is set up so you can see all the stuff would normally see at once..... I think it is a great ad plus it is funny also.. Maybe I just watch way to much TV when I like and dislike ads....
fing - 11/10/10 12:46
Tony, I think what they were trying to tell you is that the Windows phone is so efficient you don't have to be on it very much. Let's say it takes you 10 seconds to check your Estrip on an Android phone. It might only take 3 seconds on a Windows phone.

I especially like the father getting hit in the head with the baseball. However, I still hate Microsoft and everything they stand for. I think most of that stems from the fact that Steve Ballmer is arrogant.

I was reading an article the other day with either a comment from Ballmer or another MS goof. It was in regards to the iPad killing Netboook sales. The statement said something like "I don't understand by people want an iPad when they could have Windows on a netbook" It's almost like they are offering up eternal life but nobody wants to drink it. The only difference is in this case it does not give you eternal life and it tastes like garbage.

paul - 11/10/10 09:03
That company is killing itself.

Almost Over
Oooooh, migawd. This trip is almost over. One last plane to puddle hop home from Cleaveland. Thank goodness. I started traveling yesterday at this time by boarding a bus in Torrace,CA at 9:00am and I'm still traveling. I can honestly say all I wanna do is get home and squeeze my baby. Matt my travel buddy is actually more worn out than me...

if I find the energy later I'll jot down some trip details, for now (e:strip). Take care. I'll see you and the rest of buffalo in just a few hours.

tinypliny - 10/09/10 08:45
Is this a fast-as-you-can pilgrimage to Elvis?

Properties
Category: properites
This blog post kicks off a new category for me. It's the properties category.

Right now the rental properties thatI have something to do with consist of a 3 bedroom house and a three bedroom apartment and I've have been and will be doing nothing but taking care of them since the begining of the month. I'm super tired, and even when I do have time to enjoy my self I end up too tired to do to much. (Had some friends over last night and I feel a sleep 1/2 way through Zombieland of all films).

I have a new roommate as of tomorrow, the downstairs tenants are out today and I have a new tenant on Sanders in the house. The house people seem nice a small family with no pets, a four year old an a new baby on the way, my roomie is a buddy and we have a bunch in common which can be both nice and claustrophobic depending on how you do it, but we're planning on have 2 separate living rooms so we shouldn't need to worry about butting heads, and I have to speed rent the downstairs unit out before it too long, but there's a ton of intrest and I might be able to get someone in there before the 15th of September.

I've been doing far less with my nights and days since this month started, I can not wait for it to be over and for all the things in transition to be done with. At least for another year.

Wish me luck peeps.
tinypliny - 08/31/10 14:36
My officemate is looking for a new place to rent near Roswell - where is this unit and how much are you asking?

Puppies in the river
Category: disturbing
Ok. This link is not for the weak willed.

It's actually quite disturbing, hence the category, but I imagine that this kind of thing goes on all the time, not every puppy can be loved. The girl is perdy cute (she has some kind of Euro accent too) Still... to see it happening, well... Here you go:
tinypliny - 09/04/10 02:10
@ (e:jenks): I once had a clerkship rotation in a clinic that received quite a number of victims of sexual violence. I think it changed me in many ways - some of them not so great. Some of the patients and their histories still occasionally crawl through my nightmares. :/

jenks - 09/01/10 19:37
Ok I haven't watched the video, but I get the gist.
Two words:
SPAY/NEUTER

no one wants to see puppies killed.
But no one wants packs of wild dogs either.
Shelters are always full, and tons of dogs get put down every day. And cats. We just don't see videos of it.
sad.

But like tiny said- it's 'just' animals. Don't get me wrong- it's awful.
But I just started reading the book 'Half the Sky' about "women's issues" around the world...
It's been sitting on my nightstand for months because I figured it was some feminist agenda thing and I thought it would be all feminazi and/or boring...

But wow. It's not. It's eye-opening and horrifying.
routine abortion of girl babies, systematic rape and torture, human trafficking and forced prostitution... entire hospitals dedicated to care of fistulas (where urine and feces just dribble uncontrollably out of the vagina)- due either to violent rape (often with guns or sticks) or from a baby getting stuck when a raped 12 year old's pelvis isn't big enough to deliver...

Anyway. Sorry for the hijack.
I agree that killing puppies is awful.
But wow I'm a little horrified to know how much other bad stuff is out there.
tinypliny - 09/01/10 03:25
I am not sure I should be saying this but I will go ahead and say it anyway. I am not so much disturbed by the video as I am by all the reaction this is provoking and the direction of that reaction. We calmly watch humans treated worse in war torn zones and prisoner camps, people dying just because they don't have health care or food or both, cold calculated mass homicides, violence against women and children all over the world and yet do little to denounce the perpetrators. But this unfortunate girl, whose life we are completely ignorant about, whose motivations to drown those puppies we obviously don't know, whose actions are clearly being taken out of context, suddenly invites the wrath of a lynch mob.

To answer my own question, an informative and revealing article about how they euthanise puppies at shelters: :::link:::
paul - 09/01/10 01:45
Her name and address are all over the internet now. Looks like she is from Germany. I love how all the people were saying its understandable because she is probably from a "third world" country. Who still thinks there are "third world" countries in Europe?

I kind of wonder what kind of crazy global vigilante justice will come out of it. If I was her, or her parents, I would go into hiding.
paul - 09/01/10 00:33
Really its not too different from what happens when they don't get adopted at the SPCA.
samathon86 - 08/31/10 22:17
coz you guys had to see the puppy throwing video, here's something that might cheer you guys up : :::link::: :)
samathon86 - 08/31/10 22:08
so fucked up!
tinypliny - 08/31/10 20:03
I am just wondering, how does one euthanise puppies?
leetee - 08/31/10 19:36
i couldn't watch the whole thing. this fucking asshole of a human being is evil and someone should do this to her. if the puppies needed to be killed, there were kinder more humane ways to achieve that task. my faith in humanity is shredded....
tinypliny - 08/31/10 17:38
Maybe they were diseased or rabid? I know. Not a very good justification for chucking them into the river, but animal health-care can get pretty expensive for 7+ puppies, not to mention the health hazard to the humans around them.

At the risk of sounding extremely nasty and devoid of humanity, I wish they did something like this for the massively out-of-control stray dog problem in Delhi. We were sick of seeing little kids in the ER mauled or bitten by the random dog packs that should have been culled in the first place.
