finally healing
wow, who would have thought you could hurt yourself so bad walking to work. 3 weeks later it looks just like a regular scrape.

Well that is the Allentown west part and that is all ways so packed, with the thin street and all, I wanted to try the Bison or even the Gator but wasn't brave enough.

The old estrip
Category: estrip
Archiving the old site, I found a bunch of files I had completely forgotten about. Over the years I had used the estrip server as a way to store and transfer data.

I found a site I made to track my bloodpressure over time. A site I made about the elmwood village being a strip and not a village. A ransom note maker for which I had painstakingly cut out each individual letter from artvoice and scanned them.

A million and a half test.php files with little snippets of code I used to test on the go from my phones.

One of the things was a compressed tar file of like 10,000 images my porn bot had scoured off the internet. I am sure I will find more as I explore the backup.

One of the things is the old chat, which was stored in a sqlite database. I am thinking about just pushing the whole thing as is with downloadable db3 file. I was so amazed how that one file help up all those years.

Its so crazy how much stuff is in there. I just wish I could have saved the old paulvisco.org before that got destroyed. I had so much more there.

Also found my thesis about estrip.org. Here are some fun pictures from it.

Nailing up the old banner at the old house on elmwood.

Our biggest party ever with 104 people.

All the themes back in 2005. I really need to make new ones for this site. I feel bad for anyone who does no like green and brown in the meantime, but it seems to fit the weather.

Having fun advertising on elmwood.

This Brings up many points

- Love the boob shirt
- What ever happened with the (e:strip) Idea shirt?
- Would a Shirt that says something like Social Documenter be good or bad?
- Are you going to go back and try and hype or advise the site
- Did you find the chat from the sub or private rooms? Well you know the one I mean, and did you re-enjoy it, HA?
- That was a good idea are you going to have that put back. Here is an example:
Say two ladies want to talk about the way a date went but they don't want to chat but not have the entire site see it then they are maybe a couple other select few can go to the sub chat or what ever it was called

I can scratch out any phone numbers. I have to find the database file first anyways, lol.

I constantly wonder about how such a varied bunch of people can come together and hang out. And then I realize it's your labour of love. Talk about a thesis project having such a major and real impact! One in a million grad student has that privilege. :-)

PS: The old chat had a ton of phone numbers, personal details etc. Instead of having it available as a download to all and sundry - how about restricting access to only those who have posted a certain minimum number of entries?
