Fedora 13
Category: linux
It seems pretty awesome so far. I can't believe much more I can do now with my much deeper understanding of the system. I was able to repartition my disk, edit my grub menu and combine a few boot partitions into one and encrypt the whole thing so that I could load fedora 12 and 13 as I transition my stuff over. If only my stupid macbook pro didn't have a fault CD drive I could have done this sooner.

Between that an getting to the bottom of a long term memory issue on a server at work, I had a pretty good night. That and (e:terry) painted the pillars on the dormer so that tomorrow I just have to sand, re-putty and paint the actual windows.

raised cars
They seem to be all the rage right now. I want one.

Not sure if that is one of them but there is this huge culture of customising cars, with all kinds of things. In Terms of driving I'm guessing being a little bit higher helps with Visability well unless you are the person behind them?

I wonder how efficient a car is when it is running on truck tires.

zoar valley
Category: hiking
Had a fun day at zoar valley with (e:terry). I kind of felt bad not finishing the dormer but sometimes I need to do something besides work or housework. At the bottom of this journal, there is a picture of me in a creek where you can see my butt, just stop scrolling now if it will be an issue.

The dormer leering at me.

battery operated price tags
(e:mike) says they are for timed sales
image
metalpeter - 05/24/10 17:20
Well under state law if you picked it up when it said the previous price they have to give it to at that price. Unless it is other wise noted and price that is listed or displayed the store has to give you. The Classic Case of this is when something is on sale and they change all the tags but they leave one or forget to change the sign, when they over charge you say the sign says and if the sign is up that is the price they have to give you. I don't know if this law is still on the books. It used to be that anything you buy, if it goes on sale in the next 30 days at the same place you bring in your reciept and the add and the store has to give you the difference, Well at least at places like target not sure about food places, and agian not sure if it is still the law. (e:tinypliny) you are kinda in a grey area on that one though.
tinypliny - 05/24/10 14:29
They have those tags only for items on display. And at Kohls the price has changed as I was waiting in the checkout queue. They told me that the "power-hour" sale just ended.
zobar - 05/24/10 07:33
...what do they do when it changes as you're waiting in line to check out?
