Tonight (e:terry) and I went to torches on kenmore avenue. the food was
amazing and for once the portions were of reasonable size. We had the
filet minot au poivre with gnochi and a fried calamri appetizer.

Hmm, I didn't like Torches at the Taste, to be honest. Maybe it had to do with the options I chose. I would love to go back to Hutch's, however! I dislike the fact that I didn't make it out during the week, but I had heard some serious horror stories about wait times, etc. - I'd almost rather wait for another time and eat off of the regular menu. Sea Bar had what I thought was an interesting looking deal for $20, same with Amici. There are some faux-pretentious restaurants that I'll never set foot in (I'm talking to you, Merge).
My fiance works at Hutchs, he said this week is so crazy for them! It's a great idea though, a good reason to try places you've never even heard of! There's a whole lot here and I wish there were more kinds of those entertainment books that get people out and about exploring! (supposedly the B-lo area is a GREAT place for scuba diving! I've lived here all my life and never once heard that- just goes to show!)
O'Connell's! that's it. yummmmm. (but not cheap.)
omg, I forgot about torches! yeah I only ate there once but it was great.
another place out there is... shit... what's it called.... on kenmore/colvin... totally unassuming exterior, but amaaaazing food. O'brian's maybe? crap. something like that.
I liked Torches food at the Taste of Buffalo. I'm glad you've shown some pictures, maybe I'll get out there someday. Looks nice.
Its one of the nicest restuarants in buffalo on the inside.
I always assumed that place was a dump from the exterior and parking lot. But that food looks amazing.
