Rainbows on the floor at the 475

As a kid I was so fascinated by the leaded glass at my grandparents
house and how it made rainbows of the floor. I can't wait to someday
get leaded glass for the windows in the stairway at my house.

Where is 475? They look so cool!

Isn't lead-plating obsolete and considered hazardous now? I read somewhere that they have some alternative plating metals in glass.

Gloves in a Bottle scare me

I don't understand who would apply something that doesn't wash off and
only gets removed as your skin exfoliates. It scares me.

Yikes. That seems so unhygienic! Its not as if all germs enter through the skin. Many are simply transmitted because of hand-mouth hand-nose contact. The concept of a semi-permanent gloves defeats the purpose of hand-hygiene because you would be tempted not to wash your hands and that would lead to more disease transmission than ever. Yuck. Who comes up with these ideas??

Happy Pre Mother's Day
Category: holidays
We went all seafood for mother's day. I know it's really tomorrow but
we celebrated today because my mom has to work tommorow. We had corn on the cob, cherry stone and little neck clams, shrimp, lobster, fresh
cut fries, and greenbeans. (e:libertad) made banana's foster which was
totes yumtastic as (e:mike) would say

She loves seafood and she loves to reschedule holidays, so I think it
was a huge success.

One last present
Category: housing
From the tenants. This is on the inside of the window as the storeindiw in the outside was not broken.

Luckily, it is an old window that will require surgery just to get it out for repair - fun.

How does anyone break a window from inside? What does one have to do? Throw things at the window in rage? Yikes.

What the he'll is going on here?
Category: housing
I've been watching this house on porter near Kleinhans slowly be consumed by the elements. I hope no one lives in it. It's been like this for so long and seriously looks like it's about to collapse. I wonder if it's abandoned? Anyone know the story behind it?

Must have been such a grand house with all those Roman columns back in the day. That is so sad.

There was an article about this house on Buffalo Rising. I'm so annoyed because I can't remember the details and I can't find the story in the archives.

I think it might be one of those stories of good intentions to restore the house meets Buffalo City Hall Bureaucracy and then everything came to a grinding halt.

lol, i don't know the story behind it, but it's mine! I'm claiming it- looks like a good place to start my co-op for single moms. HA! it's crazy, a couple weeks ago there was a whole page in the paper listing over a thousand properties waiting to be demolished. And they're putting up a fit about a family buying 1 piece of land to start an urban farm. Just blows my mind. Love U!
