(e:tinypliny) and i had a WONDERFUL time at Merge last night - we met at 6:30 and didn't leave Merge until 10! We have pix and review coming up soon...

pmrk - 03/27/09 13:45
I can't wait to read your review of Merge. That place is on my list to try. I already had plans the night you two went or I would have happily joined the fun.
matthew - 03/27/09 10:08
I also was excited to see the flowers! That purple iris is a
beauty. I'd love some growing in my garden.

general estrip invite
Category: dinner
(e:TinyPliny) and I are going to Merge tonight (http://www.localrestaurantweek.com). We're meeting at the convenience store corner of Delaware & Allen at 6:30 if anyone would like to join us :-)

tinypliny - 03/26/09 14:28
I owe you $2.00
drew - 03/25/09 16:14
wish I could. can't.
tinypliny - 03/25/09 16:11
Oh trouble surely. :D

(e:Heidi), I called them just to be sure and they said they required reservations! So I made one for both of us at 6:45. If anyone else is coming along - post in the next hour and I can call in to change. Or make reservations and we can probably push our tables together.
mrmike - 03/25/09 15:10
Sounds like fun or trouble, I can't decide which.
libertad - 03/25/09 13:49
I want to go but I already have plans. Let us know how it is. (e:tinypliny) is a tough critic.
matthew - 03/25/09 13:37
I have to work late tonight too, but have a great meal :)
lauren - 03/25/09 12:06
booo...i have to work :(

neat pattern
Category: school
In general, I strongly dislike the architecture of O'Brian Hall where the law school is located. The room I spend the most time in has brown brick walls set in a gapped pattern. My school friend Nick's glasses distract me because they distort the pattern.

Wow - it looks like he has a honeycomb in his spectacles. Dangerous place to have one...

Random party followup
Thanks to (e:PMT) for hosting yet another fabulous party! (e:Matthew), I hope you enjoyed it!

(e:lilho) had "My Humps" playing on the stereo upstairs - i asked if anyone had seen the Alanis Morrisette version... here it is...

I'm not sure anyone was serious about wanting the molasses crinkle cookie recipe, but here it is...

3/4 c. butter (1 and 1/2 sticks)
1 c. brown sugar (I prefer dark)
1 egg
1/4 c. molasses (darker the better, IMO)
2 c. flour
1/4 t. salt
2 t. baking soda
1 t. cinnamon
1 t. ground ginger
1/2 t. ground cloves
white sugar in a bowl for dipping

Cream butter & brown sugar, add molasses, spices, salt. Beat in the egg. Add the baking soda and flour, stir until mixed.

Chill dough for at least 20 min.

Roll dough into small balls, about the size of a shooter marble. Dip in the white sugar. Place on cookie sheet. (I strongly recommend using parchment paper.) Bake at 350 degrees F. for 8-10 min. Don't over cook!

I stopped at PriceRite. Holy produce! Wow! I really need to learn some more mexican & south american cooking. I want to know what to do with all those root veggies.

The place was insanely busy.
pmrk - 03/24/09 15:38
thanks for the recipe. I am pretty sure my hubby was happily eating those cookies at the party.

I can't wait until the opening madness dies down a bit at PriceRite. I keep calling the darn place ShopRite.
johnallen - 03/23/09 21:28
Place is amazing. I can't believe how much work they put into it.
tinypliny - 03/23/09 19:56
I LOVE that biscuit!!! Seriously, we need to get together to bake and cook again. :D
tinypliny - 03/23/09 19:55
OMG!!!!!!!!! We have a grocery store! FINALLY!!
I am over the moon. I will be reviewing each aisle this weekend. :D
janelle - 03/23/09 18:49
For a bit, I thought you were mistaken and the artist was Tori Amos, not Alanis Morrissette. Is she purposely singing like Tori Amos?
james - 03/23/09 16:37
Oh that is it! I am walking home today and stopping there... oh! It is time to go home.

See the yesterday phantoms of you kids today!
