Public vs. Private Jokes oh no.....
Category: comedy
So I'm Happy Obama won. I Will admit he hasn't done anything yet so it is to early to be happy. But let us assume that he Doesn't completely mess things up, and I hope he doesn't then that lends its self to a problem. What will people like SNL and Bill Maher do for jokes. I know that isn't all that they do jokes on But Clinton, Bush, and W. all had good stuff you could make fun of. I haven't seen anything on Obama other then he is Black. But see those jokes unless you are black you can't do on TV or in public really. You can tell jokes to your friends or send e-mails or texts and I've all ready heard some funny ones. But they aren't things that Leno could say for example. I think there is a difference between private and public jokes and that it is a differnt thing. For example you and your buddies might have inside jokes about something stupid one guy did or little things within a group but that doesn't mean you can go do stand up comedy. What is true about black jokes, is true for other groups of people. There are all kinds of polock jokes but you couldn't really say them on tv. I also think that Public and Private jokes sometimes use a different kind of humor but I don't know how to explain. So with Obama as president I don't know what the comedy writers are going to do, I realy don't. On a side note I thought the recent South Park with McCain and Obama as theives was a pretty intersting one.

Obama wins is just 1 step
Category: political
I admit I have posted a lot of comments today so I don't feel much like writing. Yes I'm glad that Obama won. That being said him winning dosn't mean much yet. Often people are judged in their first 100 days in office. It is what he does and what he tries to do. Hey most people who don't like what Bush wound up doing or some of the stuff he did wouldn't be saying he was a bad President when he started. We shall see what happens. What we do know is that we are at a point in history. I also think that with states banning gay Marriage we are at another point in history. Hey maybe when we look back at this time it will be the pivotal point that went on to get people who are for gay marriage to get together and strengthen the fight and that is what is looked at as what got a case to the supreme court. Maybe it takes one case or 12 cases to make Gay Marriage protected legally by the constiution or maybe it will go the other way. I'm hoping that at some point it will be legal in every state. I don't know what will happen but I do think that there is a good chance that this years election in the future could be a big history point.

Voting is strange
Category: political
Yes I voted. But there are some things I find strange. In some parts of the country they have or have had lines (4 years ago) that took hours. But in my hood I know of 3 or 4 voting places, where I vote at Grover then at Richmond and Summer, then on Elmwood there is a polling place between Summer and Bryant and then if you go down to Dyouvile I think there is one down there. The other thing that I find strange is that there are all kinds of voting machines. I think Buffalo has the good kind with the lever and things you flick. Those touch screens are bad and as nice as those scan tron sheets are some people don't know how to use pencils anymore. When I went in to vote I didn't look to see who was running in my district I should have though. The thing that surprised me is that with all the Chris Lee and Joe Mesi adds they weren't on my Machine and I don't think who they where running against was on it either. I did read the proposition going into the voting booth and all most missed it on the machine. If I understood it correctly my yes vote means that since disabled veterans get extra points on the civil service exams they have to be collecting benefits to get that credit and now they won't have to be collecting those benifits to get the extra points.

yes peter I think you understood the question. A 'yes' vote is a vote to change it from the current status (must be 1: declared disabled and 2: collecting money) to the proposed version (must be declared disabled, ONLY).

At least, I hope that's right b/c that's how I voted.

Buisness Idea
Category: buffalo
So today on my way to work I caught a bus around 6am and as I was going down Delaware I saw Spot was open and there where people inside. I thought it must be nice to go there and eat and maybe drink before work. Then I remembered that there used to be a time I think when spot was open 24hrs a day. I also thought that I know there are some people who after a being drunk and hung over might drive home and then go into work the next day. Well you know what would be cool is if downtown there was place to eat other then Jim's Steakout for the after the bar crowd. Hey maybe it could open at like 2am and serve breakfast and maybe light lunch stuff and coffee and teas and snacks. Maybe for people who have more time they could have an Internet Cafe', In other cities are internet cafe's open all night. Think about it you stay out late and have a good time and instead of trying to get home to like get barely any sleep just go there sober up and read e-mail or surf the web for some time. I think it would be a good idea. Yeah sometimes drunks can get a little crazy but it might not be that bad really.

The Problems of election Day
Category: politics
First of all I don't think that anyone in NYS should vote for anyone local. That is right I think every single local person should get 0 votes and then no one wins. Here is the reason why they all go Negative. All the ads then send out don't say what they believe. For example if you look at an Old Joe Mesi ad he says something about how no one wants to leave western new york but some people have to, and that he will create jobs. But if you listen to someone other add then he will cost people jobs and has got his family jobs. See it is all negative and that is just the small time Ones I won't even get into the Chris Lee ones. I don't care what the other person did in the past. You have 30 seconds or if you spend more money a minute tell me what you want to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When you mail out those flyers I don't care about you family or what your grandmother thinks or what you did in your other office, what are you going to try to do, what to you believe in Damitt Have some Fucking Balls or grow a Pair and Say what you Believe in.

The Second problem I have is Election Result programs. I'm sorry but news on Results should be illegal until every single polling place is closed and the votes have been started to be counted and this fact is confirmed some how. Here is why. I don't care what anyone says hearing the results can be miss lead people and cause them to vote or to not vote and change things. Lets say for example my guy is losing by a lot or a big percentage well then why go vote at all, but see only 30% of the votes are in so what about the other 70%. I also think watching is kinda silly they do this thing where all the votes aren't in and they have a projected winner in each state. Um guys there is this thing called Absentee Balloting. Yes I may check in late if I'm still awake and see who has won maybe but we shall see.
