I hate you so much right now
Category: housing
Cleaning
It takes a lot for me to think someone is truly disgusting but my former tenants win the prize. The house looked liked it had never been cleaned in all the years they lived there. I never seen an apartment as dirty.

The stove had enough grease on it the allow an elephant to slip through a needle hole. The freezer had ice cream all melted in it, a bottle or ranch dressing an some cheese remained as if anyone was going to use it. Everything, was as filthy and disgusting as it could possibly ever be.

To make it even more fun the stupid fucking bitches, I hope I never see them again, glued the god damn windows shut. Who the fuck glues windows shut. I have a picture to add to this. Yes, hot glue, like the craft kind - on most if not all of the windows - all the fuck the way around.

Months ago I asked the downstairs tenants to move upstiars, which has been renovated now -as I wanted to work on the bathroom. They insisted on staying and apparently , in all the years that they lived there they never once wiped off the ceiling or wall after taking a shower to the point that it looks like this now - argh. It was never intended to have no ventilation. In fact it was never intended to never be cleaned. When we get back I am going to have to tear of the walls and put in a walk in shower as rehab is impossible.

Basically, every tenant has been terrible and trashed the place in one way or another or has not paid rent, or broken their lease, or whatever - its always something. I am so over that ghetto. I wish the school would just buy it and make it into a parking lot - and you know how I feel about surface parking lots.

I can't just blame the last girl to leave, the other two had plenty of time to clean their own rooms before they left. They kind of just stiffed her at the end with the cleaning - which shows how shitty of people they really were. Any decent person would have cleaned their own room before they moved out so their remaining roommate - or in this case the landlord would have to clean up their filth.

There was just so much garbage left behind. This is only a portion of it. There is also a ton of trash in the basement and attic.

(E:lilho) helped a ton by mopping the floors and cleaning the bathroom. (e:terry) and I also manged to tile the counter in the upstairs apartment. This extra house has been such a financial and time drain. I think it was probably the worst decision I ever made in my life - to have a rental property. Right now, it has been empty as we are doing repair work and costs about $500 a month to operate and that is without the repair costs, new floor in the kitchen, new stove, new refrigerator, $7000 worth of paint a couple years back.

Call me elitist but it will be a happy day for me when I never have to cross to the other side of Richmond ever again.

Just stop reading now if you aren't up for a very angry rant.

Adora
Yup, Adora - I fucking hate you. My family, did a lot for you because you had this poor african immigrant student sob story and they felt sorry for you. Now looking back, I just feel like you are such a manipulating, thankless bitch.

So the whole time you were studying in America, going to D'Youville for nursing I just kept thinking - why the fuck should I give you anything - its not like anyone was forcing you to study in America. It would be like me moving to Sweden for school and then manipulating everyone into feeling sorry for me because I am just a poor American from upstate New York. Now you drive a fancier car than me and go to Duke for medical school, go figure.

I still can't get over that after everything, you couldn't even clean your room before you left and you subtracted the security deposit from her last months rent. I am so angry I want to spit in your face. You even sent some lame-ass card thanking us for everything we did - meaning you recognized it - but you couldn't even clean up after yourself.

Remeber the time (e:paul,42649) - that you decided to make the non-electrically inclined upstairs tenant do electric work on Christmas Eve - forcing us to leave our family party and come save you guys from darkness. My father was so mad.

That upstairs tenant came to me to complain how you would always be manipulating him into doing stuff which I totally believe because you are such a whiny fucking manipulating bitch - God I hate you so much.

Remember the day of my grandmothers funeral when you insisted on coming to the graveyard and then in the middle of it needed to go home because of some religious observance that prevented you from attending the buffet. I was so mad that I had to leave on the day and take you home. If it had not been for my father I would have left you there.
tinypliny - 08/14/08 22:01
That sounds so stressful. :/

It's quite disturbing that they seemed to have merrily lived in the midst of all this trash. I really wish you had some better tenants in your flats. It's terrible to have been treated the way you have. I am so sorry. :(

Whole fish lunch
Category: food
(e:lilho) and I cooked a whole fish for lunch as practice for my
upcoming fishing trip in Utah. At first she thought it would be gross
but once it was cooked we devoured the yumminess that was Mr. Fishy.
Beware of bones.

Paul - what about the entrails and stuff? =/

I was watching Andrew Zimmern's show on Travel Channel last night ("Bizarre Foods") and this particular episode was filmed in the US gulf coast. They caught a fresh fish and the man literally took out a knife and cut his own sashimi. After that, he had the boatman pluck the fish's heart out and he ate it raw. That ain't local, thats just weird.
matthew - 08/12/08 20:22
I don't come home for lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It's been like that for a year now.but don't worry about it, I don't really like fish.
paul - 08/12/08 19:42
After the yummy phase started. Matt, I came home today for lunch after you said that you came home for lunch at that time, but you weren't there. I was there from 12:30 to 1:30.
matthew - 08/12/08 17:45
wow, must be nice to have someone to eat lunch with.
tinypliny - 08/12/08 17:36
Is that a picture from the gross-phase or the yummy-phase?
Curiosity killed the cat.

Candy grill
Category: food
(e:lilho) and (e:tina) went to the galleria yesterday and (e:lilho) found a
candy grill, not the weber/hibachi kind either. Who would have
thought. Imagine being the person who makes candy grill's for
americans. What do they think of us.

boxerboi - 08/12/08 20:13
nice package
tinypliny - 08/12/08 17:40
I meant "AREN'T" not "are".

Googling for candy grills turns up your post. Not helpful at all.
tinypliny - 08/12/08 17:39
OMG, I just *REally* looked at the picture. Tell me those horrible Frankenstein lips are candy grills!??!
tinypliny - 08/12/08 17:06
What in the world is a candy grill??
mrmike - 08/12/08 11:28
Wow, phony teeth to rot your real teeth.

Work and Anchor Bar
Category: random
Had a semi stressful work day. Not because the work was so hard (although I ironed out a lot of bugs) but because I was trying to wrap up any lose ends before Vegas. We went to lunch at Anchor Bar today and I ate mild chickenwings - basically with no sauce. It was pretty good, better than I remembered anchor bar being. It makes me wonder if I just didn't like their hotsauce. We went because our new co-worker just moved to Buffalo for the job at Roswell and had never tried it.

Afterwards, I worked out so hard at the gym. It feels good. According to their much more accuratre looking scale I weigh 158 which is much better than the 153 I weigh on my scale at home.

On a side note, Holy crap, Apple is worth more than google today. I can't believe this - I saw it on macrumors:

- Microsoft (MSFT) - $255,648,204,000
- IBM (IBM) - $169,964,678,000
- Apple (AAPL) - $157,012,662,240
- Google (GOOG) - $156,392,862,560
- Cisco (CSCO) - $142,125,692,160
- Intel (INTC) - $135,658,860,000
- Hewlett-Packard (HPQ) - $111,866,423,760
- Nokia (NOK) - $97,746,699,520
- Research In Motion (RIMM) - $71,143,935,000
- Disney (DIS) - $59,257,501,500
- Dell (DELL) - $50,483,256,060

mrmike - 08/14/08 10:48
Haven't been to the Anchor Bar since the October storm. I was out in the burbs checking on my folks house and driving in. It was one of the few places that had power. Two pints of Guinness and a double order of medium never tasted better. Oasis' can take on many forms.
tinypliny - 08/14/08 06:09
I walked by the Anchor Bar today. I think I don't like the smell of their famous sauce so much... or maybe I was too depressed by my non-progress at work that the sauce compounded negative sentiments. :/

Saigon Cafe, work and the gym
Category: food
Food
Wow another boring no picture food journal. At Saigon Cafe I had the yellow curry and it had mango in it. I did not get allergic, that makes sense to me as it was cooked. I think it was the first time I enjoyed mango. I was so unsure of it at first I thought it was pineapple and then I thought it was peach.

Work
Lots of work on the wikimedia plugins. I really don't like the way the system is written. I guess that is what you get with open source. It works great and it is very extensible so there is that. Some of my problems with it are limitations of the language, others are the way it was programmed.

I am nervous about going on vacation. I run so many things, I hope nothing breaks as no one really has time to train on being my fill in. Hopefully, I think everyone knows some piece of the puzzle and most things should really be self sufficient at this point.

I also have so many exciting projects I am working on that it is hard to put them down and just vacation. Luckily, we will be camping in the middle of the desert so I really don't have a choice.

Gym
Today in the sauna there was a hot guy that reminded me of Jean Luke Piccard. I was very jealous, I wish I looked like JLP.
mrmike - 08/11/08 21:35
Love the Saigon Cafe. Had mango curry with chicken a few weeks ago. Went back to work very content.
