Well, that BRO article was posted, and we managed to convince Rust Belt Books that aren't an evil corporation so they'd carry our magazine. A week of steady progress, but I'd love to find new ways to get the word out. Maybe I'll rent a zeppelin....

BRO is on the case.Sent out some mini-press-releases the other day in an attempt to egt the word out about GF. A fellow named Eli from Buffalo Rising contacted me in response, and we held a brief tete-a-tete over the phone today. I'm looking forward to the article, particulary seeing just what the heck I told him. Dang short-term memory!

Out ThereI've been wondering how it would sound to say this: Greenfern is now available for purchase at Talking Leaves on Elmwood.
Cool, right? I dropped off a copy about a week ago and got the word today that they would put it on their shelves. Hoofed it over there right quick and dropped off a handful. It was all very official-seeming, what with the signatures and the publishing vocab and all.
The next step is marketing. Joel has graciously given permission to use his cover artwork for flyers, etc. so expect to see it around soon.

They're inThe mags are here, waiting to be sent out in the world to do their great work.

This is the fun part -- figuring out what to do for marketing, how to get the thing in stores, etc. And by 'fun', I mean 'mystifying'. Lots to learn.

Still working out the details on how to get this thing distributed directly to interested folks. (paypal? direct mail? All kinds of questions.) For now, just shoot an email to greenfernmag@gmail.com and we'll work it out. Thanks!!!

On its wayThe process of actually getting this magazine printed has turned out to be a bit of a pain, but only because the printer's hours are 9-5 on weekdays. You know, the hours that a lot of people work. Delivering the files (way too big to be emailed), picking up a proof, making revisions, dropping them off, and getting a revised proof becomes a major endeavor when you have to ask off work every time.
The good news is that the green light has been given and we'll have the mags in hand next week. We're doing some funky post-printing stuff which will take a little time, so with any luck next weekend we'll be able to start the "hey, you wanna sell our magazine" project.

Can't wait to see them.
Can't wait to see them.
For a while to get people interested in estrip, we just wrote it in chalk all over the sidewalks and street on elmwood. People stare at you while you are going it and then they get curious.
