meh.
It's my first day off after a 7-day stretch (+ school Tuesday and Thursday) and I am stir crazy and want to do something SOOOOOO bad, but 3 days ago a pesky cold bug decided to take up residence in my head and my head feels like it's going to 'splode. :(

A few tips for this lovely cold/flu season:

  • Don't bother taking Airborne if you already have a cough. --I usually take it at the first sign of a cold, since (e:theecarey) got me turned onto it a year or two ago. I haven't had a full-blown cold till now. unfortunately this time I was too busy to notice the symptoms and caught it too late. :

  • Don't bother taking DayQuil caps. They suck now. --Thanks to the backyard/basement/closet/trunk of the car meth lab retards, DayQuil removed any trace of a working decongestant from their product. Had I known this yesterday, I wouldn't have spent $7.00 on a box of it, only to be stuck at work till midnight with a 'splodey head. :

  • You pretty much have to go through a body cavity search to get any product with pseudoephedrine in it now. --At Rite Aid you have to take a slip of paper to the pharmacist and they need to see your license, get your name, address and phone number and then you have to sign a form. (I was expecting them to request a stool sample next.) I finally got my illicit drugs and now I feel marginally human, though not well enough to spread my plague about town. :(

Hope you all have a better weekend than mine!! (I'll be asleep on my midnight shifts.) :)

Johari Window
We were talking about The Johari Window today in Communications class. Since it is supposed to be ever-changing, I thought I would try it again.

If you know me a little or a lot please go to the following link and fill this out for me!

Thanks!!

I think I have some extra info on this somewhere..and a bunch of other self analysis type of tools. I took a class that exposed us to understanding not only who were are and how we tend to react/absorb info- but also to understand how others prefer to take info in. Its kinda neat while learning about it-- not sure if I have returned to it at all. Whatever I can dig it all out of curious..

Quiet, Err. I'm transmitting rage
I'm sorry, but this is the funniest thing yet this year.

And, of course, the next logical step is that people would take these devices and sell them on eBay....

They're now going for upwards of $1000.

I saw a news story about this and Guerilla Advertising that was preaty funny. It was an add for Cartoon Networks Aqua Teen Hunger Force and apparently CNN was reporting on it. The one guy said all they had to do was walk down the hall and talk to one cartoon network guys since they are owned by the same people, all in all preaty funny stuff.
jenks - 02/02/07 06:45
oh god don't get me started about this whole thing. First of all, did you read they put the "devices" in like 10 other cities too, and no one freaked out there? What a clusterfuck.

i reckon if the ratings go up it was worth it. i would think that turner broadcasting could easily afford to pay the fed and mass governments for the inconvenience.

i wonder if the people who were actually affected by this think that this is the funniest thing yet this year (even if it is only february)

School days...school daze...
As of today I am officially a college student again. My stomach is in knots. I don't know if I'm more nervous or excited.

More later.. doctor time.

Jenks, The pup is fine. I guess he didn't eat the meatball, he carried it into the house and the owners saw the green rat poison pellets in it. The lady made 7 and placed them along her side of the fence (that the dog could apparently get to). The police found the rest of the meatballs, the pan, raw meat and a receipt for rat poison in the neighbor's garbage can.

The vet had the owners make the dog take peroxide (turkey baster) so he would throw up and now he's on preventative medicine and is having more bloodwork done next week.

Poor dog. He was abused and they adopted him from the SPCA. He's really cute...a little shepard mix w/ one floppy ear. :)
leetee - 01/02/07 18:32
The news story i saw last night said the dog survived, (e:jenks)
jenks - 01/02/07 16:24
yeah I wish they said if the dog survived or not. And i liked the story in the "other headlines" box- 8 year old charged with sexual assault of 6 year old.

As my brother said "isn't that just cunning."
leetee - 01/02/07 14:40
I saw that story on the news last night and it made me feel a little ill. And cry a little. I'm a softie when it comes to animals. Poor dog. Thank goodness he is ok. We have neighbors with barky dogs, too, and it can be annoying. But it isn't something someone has to die over!
