Definitely was a Not So Silent Night last night. It was so freakin' loud down on the floor even with earplugs we moved up to the balcony after Silversun Pickups and The Shins. Sound quality sucks on this video (and my camera didn't even have earplugs, haha), but here are some clips of the Raconteurs, Modest Mouse, and the Killers.

Have fun at the (e:Party) tonight!

Only $60! I can make a pair to match every theme at that price!

p.s. - 15% of the net sales goes to (PRODUCT)RED

p.p.s. - if we could just get a portion to go to estrip, we'd be all set!

Oh ya! That was so crazy. I never got a chance to smell one :::link::: before then took them down. The crazy thing (I think) is how different is that than if a bus stop was just outside a bakery? Does anybody complain about that? On the other hand, I agree it's obnoxious to bombard the senses of a captive audience. Although it's already generally acceptable to bombard the sense of sight (not saying I find it acceptable, but there it is). So can smell, and maybe sound be far behind? It would piss me off to have to listen to ANYTHING I don't choose while waiting for the bus. Smell, I don't know. Sight, I've given up on. Maybe sight has already become more passive? Anyway, I really haven't thought enough about it to form an opinion. Just to ask more questions.

Thanks for picking up on the Converse themes! The first one reminds me of estrip when I first found it. And the second one is definitely an homage to alink's "beach" theme. There's not much going on there since I left, although I'll probably renew the domain when it comes up again in February.

I hope you come out to visit sometime soon! Don't forget!

That Bottom shoe looks preaty cool. But that got me thinking what about your site alamedalink on shoes also. That also got me think about how is that site going havn't been there is some time? I want to post some of the party pics from when you where in town on it but then I forgot. That reminds me I heard an interesting piece of news on the radio that I was wondering if you had more info on. I guess they where going to have adds on either buses or Cable cars that smelled but the plan was axed after about a week.
leetee - 12/12/06 09:16
I'm in... particularly a pair of chucks with the (e:Strip) Halloween theme!
mrmike - 12/12/06 06:28
I'd buy a pair

Earthquake Insurance
Category: housing
I know, I know -- I haven't been keeping up with what's been going on with me lately. Mostly because, why would you give a damn? But also because, it would irrevocably dispel any illusion you may or may not have of "that twisted! living the life of luxury in San Francisco!" At least I have that going for me.

So anyway. Have you ever known something you didn't want to admit, and made up a convincing enough story that other people believed it too? And then somewhere along the line realized you're still going to have to pay for this mess, so you might as well come clean? Well, that just happened to me. Luckily, my general contractor is willing to work out a payment plan for the additional work I was hoping wouldn't have to be done, but obviously has to be done.

This may not make sense to anybody else -- and it's small comfort to me now -- but I consider this more of a rescue mission than an investment proposition. Guess I can't stand to see a great place that deserves more wasting away. Let's look at the pix one more time to see what I mean.

Yeah. I really can't see myself making dinner in that kitchen.

Oh! My title. So my general contractor tried to convince me I have to gut the entire top floor apartment. I really wasn't thinking that was necessary. We debated back and forth. He had many interesting arguments. I think my favorite was, "we're due for another earthquake -- better to have drywall than plaster." Great! That's just what every homeowner wants to hear before sinking a bunch of cash into a renovation. I have a better idea! What if I take out earthquake insurance, wait for the "big one" to strike, then rebuild on the insurance claim? That seems like the right answer to that scenario.

Anyway, tonight it's off to see The Killers, Modest Mouse, The Raconteurs, and The Shins at Bill Graham Auditorium (within walking distance of my soon-to-be-condemned hovel). After that I'm on a strict austerity program.

p.s. - this would be a great time for that contractor boyfriend to materialize. Anyone?

p.p.s. - Happy Birthday Tony! And to all you other Saggitarians. Mine's on Sunday!

metalpeter - 12/09/06 11:10
I admit I don't know any of those bands music that well but I know the Killers and Raconteurs (If they are who I think they are) are preaty good that should be an amazing show. Oh yeah and a happy birthday.
imk2 - 12/08/06 23:09
youre going to see the killers!?!?!?! i'm sooo jealous!!
twisted - 12/08/06 20:15
Urban decay chic! Ha! I love that. (e:Leetee), you could totally get a job writing real estate ads out here! I guess I shouldn't be so hard on my little house when I think back on some of the other, um, unique places (e:twisted,262) looked at.

p.s. -- I am stoked for :::link::: Not So Silent Night! Will post pix later.
leetee - 12/08/06 19:26
Sweet show! Take pics?

Personally, i think your kitchen has a chic urban decay kinda charm...
jenks - 12/08/06 18:56

Putting the "cuss" in customer service
Ever get the feeling computers have taken over the world, and there's no one at the wheel? I've had a rash of outright wrong automatic notifications lately, followed by infuriatingly futile attempts to find a human to right them.

"I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that..."
joshua - 12/08/06 16:12
I swear (oh, a cheeky but unintended pun) that you were talking about me when I read the word 'cuss' - when I try to call places and get robots it makes me want to split my office desk with a battle axe.

Back to the future

I'd like to ask them if they really mean, December 31, 3006. But I don't want to draw attention to the fact they haven't been charging me for the past year or so.

UPDATE:

I couldn't help myself. So now I have an open trouble ticket with them. Great! Just like old times.

UPDATE #2:

Just an update that all the files and accounts are moved over. Propagation has already begun for some domains here and others will happen over 24 hours.

Please let us know well before December 31, 2006 (not 3006) if you are missing files. After that date the old server will be gone.

THANK YOU!
