I heart XML and RSS
XML and RSS rock my world. Now you can also have your world rocked by RSS newsfeeds thanks to some slick evening programming of mine. Check out the news journal [inlink]news,329[/inlink] for more information and find out how to explore RSS.

The best part about this whole RSS newfeed thing is that many people making the feeds are not even the creators of the sites. They are people doing something called scraping. Scaping is taking important content off a another web site and sending it as an RSS feed. For example, a news site minus the advertisments.

Rss is also very mobile because the feeds are little. Using the mac program on the news journal, you can even read your RSS feeds on you iPod. I read them on my phone. They are fast, fun, and efficient and you can find hundreds of RSS feeds out there to subscribe to. Also try searcing on feedster, the online search engine for RSS feeds. Sharpreader can search feedster right from the program.

Avenge September 11th
What is up with this sign at the poster shop on Bird and Elmwood. Does anyone else find it offensive and uneccessary in 2004, three years after the fact and after we have seen what horrible side-effects that type of attitude has on international stability and peace.

Elmwood Wireless Network
I am out and about with the sidekick and have lots to say I guess. I am eating a Pano's with matthew and lisa.

Here's what I've been thinking about, at Pano's.

Wireless Elmwood Network
First, I heard that caffe aroma has wireless internet, at least I think I did.

Does anyone know if it is free? We have free internet by the (e:strip) headquaters on elmwood and lafayette and I think Off the Wall has it to.

Anyone interested in helping develop a huge free internet zone before some corporate crackhead does? Let's set up a meeting. I think we could do it really cheaply and maybe even get a grant if we tie it in with the site and community somehow.

I imagine the site being the homepage for the giant network. It would be a great way for a free network to represent the people on it and not some lame advertising.

The worst case scenario, is some corporates make the site and when you sign on, you are bombarded with corporate propaganda / advertisements such as M&T offering you free checking. I think we need to act before it happens. Imagine, it would be like living in a virtual pop-up zone. I bet you could get whiplash from the pop-up waves.

Which brings me to the point that I think elmwood would be much better with a giant parking lot on one end or both ends, and then have a limited traffic zone. When I lived in Flensburg, Germany for school, they had a terrific area like this. People might say there is no room for parking, I say just use up part of the street. Deliveries can happen at night. Similar to what Ithica has downtown.

The streets here suck anyways. Look at the picture I captured below as I practically trip over the pot-holes writing this on my way down the street.

Anyone, care to discuss this?

Trash Can
Who the hell stole my trash can, I hope you
die. Nothing is trashier than stealing a garbage can.

I want it back, if I find you with my garbage can the wrath of the
digital mafia will consume you.

Please bring it back to my house before Thursday.
