WAP support and userPic/Snd updates
In case you hadn't read it anywhere else, you can now access some site feature from a WAP enable cell phone. This includes hundreds of models of cell-phones with text based browsers. Currently you can see how many people and who is online, as well as, a list of the last 12 updates and read them.

I also updated the userSound and userPic upload functions. There should be no more problem with browser caches, etc. Test it out and upload a new userPic or userSound today.

No more IE for Mac X support
As of this afternoon I will be discontinuing all support of IE on Mac. I am sorry if anyone is effected by this, but I do not have time to keep up with that most archane browser.

IE is not longer even supported by Microsoft as it has been disctinued as a Microsoft Product since the advent of Safari. I would like to look at it as the beginning of the end of the Microsoft browser monopoly in gerneal.

Users of Mac OS X should have no fear about inaccesibilty to our site. There are many other MAC OS X browser options, including apple's own built in and much more standards compliant named browser Safari, as well as, Netscape, and most importantly firefox .

Firefox is the the premier browser choice for viewing elmwoodstrip.com. It has many features that are not avaiable on other browsers. These currently include live bookmarks (rss style), and an estrip search plugin, so that you can search our site right from your browser toolbar, just as you would with google.

Buffalo News Photo Day
Robert Kirkham, a Buffalo News Photographer came to take my picture today for the link section article about web pages. I think it will run on the 27th of Spetember, but no guarantees. Robert was a great guy. He even gave me a quick lesson about film speed.

I imagine this will dirve a lot more traffic to the site which is already growing leaps and bounds in the last couple of weeks.
