Some of the links to our site come from the craziest places. I just got here from a site about a party that a professor I know is having. Does anyone else have a site they could put links to here on. We would greatly appreciate it. The more links, especially local ones, the better.

Hey Elmwood,
Google has a more intricate ranking system then the others that you mention. One of the places that you most want to be linked to is other sites that come up for the same search. If you want to rank higher for the search term 'elmwood strip' try to submit your site for link exchange on those which already score highly. Also, google examines your outgoing links under the premise that an informational site will link to other informational sites. I notice that although you have a strong community focus, most of the discussions on your site tend to be either personal or else of broad political significance. Try creating some areas on your site that list local retailers and events, and link to other sites that do so. Link to Buffalo News or Artvoice stories when you can, if such a link would fit into the topic that you're already discussing. Hope this helps. -Josh
