I am online at school using wireless internet! Hooray JFK!!!! The only really really annoying part is that I still have the stupid restictions that the students do, so I can't open up Gmail, etc. How annoying. But I love wireless internet and my macbook.
p.s. (e:Paul) and (e:Terry) and (e:Matthew) .. are you having a Halloween party this year?? Because I know of four people who would love to go to one...and by that I mean four very hot people who may or may not be on roller skates....!

Question for Mac usersSo yay, I got my Macbook and it is super fun and I love it. I've been talking about wanting one as though it was some unattainable dream and now that I have one I'm not sure what to do with myself. It seems that life may be downhill from here.
Anyway I'm a little confused about this whole wireless Internet thing. We don't have DSL at my house yet, so when the time comes to set that up I can probably figure it out. But if I want to go somewhere that has free wireless internet...like the library or something...can I just like say like 'Turn Airport On' and it will set it up when I open Safari? Is there anything special I need to do?
My computer seems sad not being hooked up to the Internet. I still love it though. I'm using Voice Commands like it's my job. I'm so lazy but it's so fun. I also am obsessed with PhotoBooth. How fun is it to stare at yourself? (after asking that question I immediately thought of...
)
I'm even going to post some of the good times with PhotoBooth....
So if someone could let me know about the whole wireless thing that would be great.

First thing to do is go to the network prefs (system prefs, under the apple menu, click the grey globe-y thing). There should be an airport section... click the little box at the bottom that says "show airport in menu bar". Then you get a little menu way over at the right... like a little wedge of radio waves... then you can use that menu to turn it on and off, and join networks. Any available networks should show up. Just pick one. If it asks for a password, try another. Sometimes coffee shops make you enter a special password... I know this is kind of vague, but it really does "just work" most of the time... you can email me if you need more specific help and I can try. Or, Paul can probably help better than I can.

Of course then I left about 15 minutes later, plenty drunk and plenty tired. So hopefully there are more pics of the later festivities!

I believe we are having a halloween party as we have every year since 2003. However, I will be partying it up with twisted in SF on the real halloween and ladycroft is having one on Friday - so I have a feeling ours will end up being on Saturday before I leave. I think they - (e:matthew) and (e:theecarey) - are planning some sort of haunted house theme.
I know (e:ladycroft) is having one on the 27th of october check out her journal about it. But I don't know if they will have one also or not.
