Boulderexile's Latest Five

10/05/04 02:38- ID#20877DERRIDA
just saw the Derrida documentary, a pretty interesting play of perspectives within perspectives and contexts within contexts. unfortunately, he's not so much the depraved nihilist i was expecting from the father of "Deconstruction", but i guess that speaks to the very real validity of the Decontsructive approach. you CAN put everything into question without becoming a raging asshole.

I also saw Fight Club author Chuck Palahniuk speak at the Boulder Bookstore tonight, he was reading a disgusting horror story called "Guts" which caused someone in the audience to faint. and then he kept reading!

10/04/04 05:22- ID#20876I HATE THIS WEBSITE
and i'll tell you why: because every time i check it out it makes me want to move back to buffalo. thanks a lot, stickboy. seriously though, ya'll have a good thing going here, and sitting here in sterile Front Range suburban hippie-hell reading e-strip i can just FEEL the labatt blue in my veins as i go for long walks around hoyt lake with a book i just bought from talking leaves and the songs of some Soundlab band stuck in my head. i miss that shit. buffalo: don't take it for granted.
