David Usher

David Usher (Moist) will be playing @ Casino Niagara (on the other side of the ditch) this Saturday (9/16) @ 11:00 pm!!

If anyone ever got a chance to see Moist play live (like I did, many moons ago) you know David Usher knows how to work a crowd!

Definitely check it out if you are so inclined.

X-posted from my LJ

As I (believe) have mentioned before, I am addicted to Nip/Tuck. I just coasted through the entire 3rd season on DVD and am eagerly awaiting the start of Season 4 on Tuesday.

One odd habit I have is that after I watch aforementioned show or shows on Discovery Health Channel, etc.. I find myself looking up medical issues/procedures/pictures online. (Steve must think I'm crazy. The other day I had to explain to him why I was looking up transgender operation websites. lol)

Well today I saw the oddest thing and had to look it up. A woman on Nip/Tuck was found to have a Lithopedion

In short, a baby that was conceived and was never born. A "Stone Baby" that has spent so much time inside it has become calcified. *shudders*

It's really amazing what you can find on-line. Here's a link to a story I found about one complete with pictures: Scary Stuff!

And while you're at it, look up "fetus in fetu" aka: Disappearing Twin. I saw a show about it on Discovery where a 7 yr. old went in for surgery for a tumor that turned out to be his partially-formed twin. I haven't found any pictures on-line from that one, but they showed them performing an "autopsy" on it. It was a solid ball of cells- no insides. Very weird.

Yes, I know I'm odd. :p

Fallen Rock Zone

Here in wonderful Niagara Falls, around the corner from Niagara University, there is an unassuming looking turn off which leads to a winding road which takes you right down to the bottom of the Niagara Gorge. The entire way down there are falling rock signs and the steep rock face is covered with metal netting.
At the end there is a Power Authority work area and parking spots for fishermen.

I headed down there a couple days ago with my daughter and sister in tow, and on the way back up my sister spotted this:

I've decided that the metal netting was a good addition. :)

Warning: pizza envy

My very late dinner:

image

^^White pizza sauce (olive oil and spices), garlic, sauteed spinach, sun dried tomatoes and feta.

Homemade pizza= Thee best

90 degree house + 400 degree oven= Thee worst

IE: My kitchen can now be dubbed the 7th level of hell. :)

Kay, off to do laundry and all the other fun "day off" stuff.

This made me giggle

OTHER FRIENDS: Never ask for food
BUFFALO FRIENDS: Are the reason you have no food.

OTHER FRIENDS: Call your parents Mr. and Mrs.
BUFFALO FRIENDS: Call your parents mom and dad.

OTHER FRIENDS: Bail you out of jail and tell you what you did was wrong.
BUFFALO FRIENDS: Would be sitting next to you saying, Damn...we fucked up...but that shit was fun!"

OTHER FRIENDS: Have never seen you cry.
BUFFALO FRIENDS Cry with you.

OTHER FRIENDS: Borrow your stuff for a few days then give it back.
BUFFALO FRIENDS: Keep your stuff so long they forget it's yours.

OTHER FRIENDS: know a few things about you.
BUFFALO FRIENDS: Could write a book with direct quotes from you.

OTHER FRIENDS: Will leave you behind if that's what the crowd is doing.
BUFFALO FRIENDS: Will kick the whole crowds ass that left you.

OTHER FRIENDS: Would knock on your door.
BUFFALO FRIENDS: Walk right in and say, "I'm home!"

OTHER FRIENDS: Are for a while.
BUFFALO FRIENDS: Are for life.

OTHER FRIENDS: Will take your drink away when they think you've had enough.
BUFFALO FRIENDS: Will look at you stumbling all over the place and say, "Bitch, you better drink the rest of that, you know we don't waste!!"

OTHER FRIENDS: Will talk shit to the person who talks shit about you.
BUFFALO FRIENDS: Will knock them the fuck out!!

OTHER FRIENDS: Will ignore this.
BUFFALO FRIENDS Will repost this

2 days off and nowhere to go...

  • yawns* It's amazing how tiring it is doing NOTHING!! :)
Actually, I accomplished a whole bunch on my 2 days of freedom before another 7 day stretch at work (this one afternoons...blech.), but something about not getting any friend time in and never getting around to washing my kitchen floor makes me feel like nothing was done. (However, when I couldn't contact anyone tonight to do something I DID clean my room.. woo hoo!)

This was supposed to be my and (e:theecarey) 's mini-NYC vacation jaunt, but with her new job she just couldn't take the time off. We will eventually make it up there. Probably either around her b-day (Sept 17th) or around mine (October 13th). I seriously can't wait. I haven't been there in FOREVER. (the pictures I took on the last one had the WTC in them...and that was several years before they were taken from us....LONG time!!)

My other great, big accomplishment was getting through the first 3 disks of Nip/Tuck Season 3. :D I love that show. I'm glad I didn't get into it until it went to DVD (much like Sex and the City), because I would hate to have to wait for episodes. Season 4 is starting on Sept 5th. I'm sure I will be DVR-ing it because I can never seem to make it to the TV for the same show every week. :)

After this weekend (working afternoons straight through) I have the following Friday and Saturday off, then the following 2 weekends I'm off on Saturday and Sunday. Someone do something fun and invite me, dammit! lol Hey (e:redletterweek) , maybe we can actually make it out for coffee at some point then!!! Swing shift sucks. :

Take care, (e:strip)pers!
