Bug Fix

Thanks to a heads up from (e:leetee) we squashed the user online status bug. It now no longer shows that everyone is online when they aren't. Thanks (e:leetee)

Here is a graph of all the comments since we implemented them back in mid 2005. Some interesting blips in activity to think about.

Bug Fix

They just came out with a real mozilla based browser for my favorite mobile device, my "not phone" - the nokia n800. I was using it to surf estrip and I wanted to test flash stuff because it has flash player 9 but I couldn't see the usersound player. Then I realized it was just missing - so I fixed it.

Bug Fixes

Fixed the search results bug. Try searching for holly hunter or "holly hunter" now using the main search link above.

There was a bug in the alt tags which was resulting in all images in each journal entry having the alt tag of the first image in the entry. This has been fixed.

Some Bug Fixes

1. The months cloud list now only loads journal from the month selected. Before it started with the month selected and went back 10 journal entries even if they were in another month which made it repeat entries between months for people with less than 10 entries per month.

2. The surebert upload feature now should not trigger a "script is running too long" flash alert when uploading larger files or large amounts of files.

3. When using the search box on a journal (located above each userpic on a journal) you can now use the show all option, previously the most results you could view was 100.

I hate making changed before I leave for a trip but I had time today - lets hope for the best.

Site Power Outage

Some of you may have noticed that the site was down this afternoon. It was due to a power outage at Artvoice where the server lives. Seems like everything is back up and running smoothly. Thanks whoever fixed it!!

Healthy Lakes, Healthy Lives

Someone wrote to me about the following photo contest. I don't normally post stuff that people send me because I think everyone should start their own journal but this seemed like something a lot of you may be interested in.

I thought your readers might like to know about the Healthy Lakes Healthy Lives story and photo contest .

Have a good one.

Linky Dinks

Can some of you with access to other web sites add links back to estrip? I am playing with google analytics and want to see how it affects it. You could use the sticker code on the front page of estrip below the comments section or just make your own links.

Our current google page rank is 4. I want to know how much more it takes to make it 5.

Thanks,
Paul

Safari For Windows

Safari For Windows just came out which makes it a lot easier to keep everything the same on all platforms. It is really time for IE to catch up or shut down their browser development.

The safari CSS problem at the top of the site has been resolved now that I could easily test it.

image

I also have not seen the safari quit bug in this build which goes along with what (e:carlonian) was saying about it not being in the latest apple build and means that it was most likely a safari bug.

I have noticed that safari is a bit faster than firefox but it is unfair comparing my highly customized, extension rich firefox to a default build of safari.

I wonder if we will see safari for linux?

Apparently, investors would have been happier with new hardware and 3rd party app development, instead of web devel for the iphone. It would be nice to not need one to develop though.
