Cocktease, Bowling, & My Hot Self

Hello All,
I was going to bitch about something/get some peoples opinions on a situtation I am in with an organization that I am heavily involved in, but my rule about not talking smack about things/people in my journal so it doesn't come back to bite me in the ass won out. Sorry I am a cocktease.

Instead I have some pics for your viewing pleasure. These are from when I went bowling the other night with my roommates, Jess, Gordon, Nate and Dan (I hope that is Nate's b/f's name). Because I am a narcissist, I only posted the ones that I am in. The pics are Jess'.

Another hot pic with my roommate and I

My hot self and Jess tolerating my hot self

P.S. If you didn't notice, the Chestur A Arthur look is back.

Maybe I will use one of these for my user pic but I am too lazy to trim it down now.

That is all.

Day of Organization

Today and Tomorrow will be my days of organization for the next semester. Up to this point I have been just doing things as they came up. This will not work for the entire semester because I have a lot I want to get done. THis lack of organization has caused me to forget 2 meetings in the past 2 days. Luckily I was able to have the meetings inspite of my forgetfulness. Time to get the ass in gear

Speaking of getting things done. I sent away my first application on Saturday to NYU. Thank you so much to (e:maureen) for turning my personal statement from a huge, rambling, piece of albatross crap to a personal statement that is a changing force. Also a big thank you to everyone else who read it. You all were a great help. Just three more applications to go and then I get to wait. Fun Fun.

Well, I have to go get organized. Talk to you later.

2 weeks done 1 to go

Finally finished my two weeks of insanity in the Campaign Management institute. In those two weeks our 6 person group produced a 160+ page campaign plan for the democrat running for governor in Virginia. I really like the candidate and would volunteer for him etc because a lot of his views are similar to mine. Unfortunately that is a big no no in politics. I think that is ridiculous and will comment on it later as well as tell you more about CMI. It was a great class, but I am still recovering.

Now I have one more week of madness. Classes start. I have to complete two applications for grad school that I have not started yet, and I have to plan a retreat for this friday and get together a vision for my upcoming semester as student director of the leadership program. I just have to get through next Saturday and I will be fine. Until then, bye.

Live on National TV!!!

So if you are really bored and/or want to see me on TV, tune into Cspan and/or CSPAN2 these next two weeks. I am taking part in a 2 week intensive course on running a campaign called the campaign management institute. For more info, here is the website It is a pretty neat course and well respected. Because there is absolutely nothing happening in the world of politics right now, cspan broadcasts it. The times vary but it has been on pretty frequently on cspan 2. Here is the link to the schedule . Look for programs from American University, Campaign Management Institute. Sometimes they don't decide that they are going to broadcast it at a particular time until that time so check the sschedule frequently if you want to see it. Or just flip to cspan 2 and see if the speaker is standing in front of a big blue background that says AU. It is a great course for all you political junkies and for those who aren't you can look for me in the audience. I am the scraggly hippie looking one with the long hair and beard.

all is full of love

there is something very calming about snow falling late at night
peaceful
listening to all is full of love and adore

You'll be given love
you'll be taken care of
you'll be given love
you have to trust it

Maybe not from the sources
you have poured yours

Maybe not from the directions
you are staring at

Trust your head around
it's all around you
all is full of love
all around you

All is full of love : you just ain't receiving
All is full of love : your phone is off the hook
All is full of love : your doors are all shut

All is full of love

It has been a while

Wow, I knew I haven't posted in a while but I had no idea it has been this long. I have been busy lately. Papers, Studying for the GREs, Leadership, and GA bs. Oh, I did get to meet Billy Corgan. It was really cool. All I managed to sputter out while I was shaking his hand was "It's an honor." He said thank you. I brought a camera and took good pictures of the people before and after me, but when the person behind me too the picture of me, one of the book store assistants at the table got in the way of the picture DAMMIT. At least I have a picture of him signing my book even if the view is obscured.

These GREs may kill me. I have been trying to study 2 hours a day. That is not going so well. I am taking the test on the 21st. Not looking forward to that one.

The past two saturdays have been fun. We went to playoff games for the DC United . They are Washington's professional soccer team. It was a lot of fun. They won both of them. The one we went to this saturday was REALLY EXCITING. It was the eastern conference championship. At the end of regulation and through overtime, the score was tied 3-3. They then went to a shoot out. It took each team 6 shots before DC finally won. It was AWESOME. The crowd went crazy, the team went crazy. It was a great experience and we had great seats. How many times in your life can you say you went to a championship game, saw one of the most exciting games in Major League Soccer history, sat in the sixth row, and paid only $18?

That is all for now. Hopefully I will update more often, but no promises. And I want to apologize if I got that awful staind song in your head because of the title. Later.

No Red Mixers

Howdy All,
Last night we had quite the party at our apartment. It was our friends' MK (she is the mouth missing a face in my user pic) and lauren's birthdays. We let them have it at our place cause it is bigger than their apartments. It was a decent party. Lots of people, most of whom I didn't know, but the ones I did I liked so it was all good. There was a group of six people who noone knew and were just drinking our alcohol. They were being extremely obnoxious and screwing with the stereo ("Stop fucking with my stereo" ). When it was realized that noone knew them, I asked them to leave. If you are going to crash a party, don't be obnoxious about it and at least mingle with people. Whatever. It was a good feeling to kick them out. The real fun started once most of the people left. It was at this point that our friend Kevin decided to vomit all over our carpet, couch and, once we kicked him outside, our patio. Nothing better than trying to get red vomit out of your carpet at 2 in the morning. Siv, Matt, and Sven took care of him while I cleaned up. They pumped him full of water and in the end he was ok by the time he went home. Though I am not encouraging trashing my apartment, there is something very satisfying to me about cleaning up after a party. I especially enjoy picking up cans and cups. I think it is that tangible sense of accomplishment that comes with it. But anyway, crazy party and some crazy stories (oh the joy of always being sober and remembering all the stupid things everyone else did drunk) that I am not going to post because I don't want to piss people off. If you do want to know them, let me know and I will be happy to tell them to individual people I just don't want to gossip to the world.

On to other news. Tonight I'm going over my friend Jess' for tiramitsu and after that we are going to see Lewis Black. That should be an awesome show. Tomorrow I will be waking up early to stand in life for Billy Corgan's book signing. It starts at 2 and we are getting there at 10. I am going with my Smashing Pumpkins friend. He is this guy I know that is a huge Smashing Pumpkins fan (like myself), but don't really hang out with. That is until something Smashing Pumpkins related is going on. We've gone to concerts together and we IM one another with the latest Pumpkins news. It is a very interesting relationship because that is all we do together. He is a cool guy but that is the only time we really hang out or talk at all. It should be good, especially cause I will finally get to meet BC. :) I can't wait. That night we are going to BC's poetry reading at the 9:30 club. I would rather he performed music, but I'll take what I can get. This is all good, but I have some really big papers (30 pager that I have no research for and an annotated bibliography for my senior thesis) coming down the pike as well as my Public Economics Midterm all in 2 weeks. It may kill me. We shall see. I will enjoy the slacking while I can. Take care.

Busy Weekend

It has been a while since I posted. It took me forever to catch up on all that has happened. Congrats to those who were married or celebrated their birth. I made it to Buffalo and back in one piece. It was great hanging out with the friends that I did. Doing nothing with you guys is better than doing something with others. Papers are starting to creep up on me. Got to beat them back. This weekend will be quite crazy. Today I saw Ari Fleischer speak. He was a good speaker. Tomorrow night there will be a birthday party at the apartment (not a roommate just a friend who needed a place to throw a party). Therefore I have to clean for that. I might run a 5K saturday morning if I can drag myself out of bed. Then I am going over my friend Jess' house to hang out (happy B-day Jess) before we go to Lewis Black that night. Sunday Billy Corgan is doing a book signing :) and a poetry reading. I will finally get to meet him :) Wooo Hooo. That is all for now. Night
