Day With Yvonne And Lamont
Category: vacation

Had an awesome day seeing one of my favorite people after 15 years. The last time I lived here in Flensburg was 20 years ago when we met.

Was also great to meet Yvonne's partner Lamont. For dinner we tried Indian food buffet. She hadn't had Indian before but is traveling to Sri Lanka soon and we thought it might be similar?

Tomorrow night we hit up maybe Denmark and then the bars.

Delicious Bakeries - Klosterbäckerei
Category: vacation
One thing that Germany is definitely good for is delicious Bakeries full of amazing breads and desserts.

The mandelhörnchen at Klosterbäckerei on Matildestrasse were unbelievable. They are some sort of almond flour with a chewiness thats like merengue cookie. Then covered in toasted almost slices and then ends dipped in chocolate. I ate two of those, a cappuccino and a cucumber and Bree cheese on whole grain bread for breakfast. The prices were insanely cheap.

Day Time Meets Night
Category: vacation

It's light out till about 11pm. During the twilight time it's dark out everywhere because there is no direct sun but the sky still stays light. Then the sun comes up some time around 4am.

I haven't seen this monument in daylight but its a massive lion in a cemetery and looks cool at night against the lit up sky.

Vegetarian Meat At Reformhaus Flensburg
Category: vacation

There must have been 50 sorts of vegetarian meat at the health food store. Even things like immitation liverwurst and kielbasa. That and lots of vegan cheeses. Where were all these things when I was vegan.

Vegetarian Food In Flensburg
Category: vacation

It's amazing the amount of vegetarian options they have here.

At this restaurant called Cafe Central that we went to last night in Flensburg - (e:terry) at a soja schnitzel mit zigeunersoßa (soy schnitzel with gypsy sauce) which looked and had a very similar consistency to a real schnitzel. (e:joe) had a chilli burger and I had a carrot and mustard burger with pickles. Both came with salad. This wasn't even a vegetarian restaurant, just one with veggie options which is pretty amazing.
