Headache For More Than Two WeeksCategory: body
I've always gotten migraines here and there. Even those visual auro eyegraines. My mom gets them too but they go away by the next day after a dark retreat.
This time it started two Thursdays ago and just never stopped. Over the weekend it was unbearable. I feel lightheaded and dizzy and forgetful. It's annoying as can be. My ears ring, I have trouble focusing and nightmares. The only thing I noticed before it started was a few weeks of tasting a soapy metallic taste all the time and being highly sensitive go smell. The soapy/metallic taste was a first for me. Perfume would make me want to puke.
Last Tuesday morning it was so bad I called my doctor, who said the earliest thry could see me the earliest on Tuesday (tomorrow) and that's just the primary care step one.
I decided finally on Sunday night that I was going to take a drill to my head. Seeing as that sounded deadly, I decided it was a better idea to try the OR. The doctor mentioned if it continued to get worse to go to the OR just in case it's meningitis or something like an anneurism. I was having radiating pain from the point of orgin in front of my upper spine and behind me right ear to my face.
Worst mistake in my life. I was there for like 8 hrs and got a magnesium drip for two and 25mg of benedryl. It helped a bit but I think just lying in a dark room for 8 hrs and not able to figure out the wifi helped.
They drew 5 viles of blood and took a urine sample but did no tests. What a waste of resources. I wonder if they will charge me for for. They also ran out of pillows which was kind of a nightmare for my neck. They told me the MRI would be like 16 hrs before I could get in. Then the guy said I could try a CT Scan but I was wasn't into the radiation just because of the convenience factor of it being available. I've had enough CT Scans during the Crohns years that unless I'm crunched in a car accident or there is something stuck in me like a knife, then I'm avoiding it.
One girl kept screaming her stomach was on fire. I felt a sadness for her. I remember the appendix situation and she was acting like she was in that state.
The ER at Buffalo General is a gross place. Everyone is sick as you'd expect but the place itself seems kind of gross. Just look at the channel changer. It looks like someone chewed it open. How can that be any bit sterile.
The bathroom was worse. There was piss all over and even those little bathroom flies. They ran out of pillows. No one came when I pressed the nurse button to ask if it was normal for blood to flow out my arm toward the bag.
I decided that I needed to get the heck out. I took off my oxygen reader, than the stickers on my chest to see if someone would come. Instead it was just a bunch of beeping. I pressed call again and eventually the PA came in. I said I was great and ready to go home though really I wasn't and just needed to get out.
I was a bit disoriented from the headache and the intravenous benedryl but walking home felt like total freedom. I will handle this much better as an outpatient. I now know, stroke, heart attack, burn, stab, accident, poison = ER only. Otherwise outpatient.
On the positive side the magnesium did help a bit with neck muscle pain. This morning I was still okay so we went for a bike ride to tift. The sun and the bumpy ride brought it back. So I tried some caffeine after reading it can help and ended up with an eyebrow twitch.
I hope there are answers and that they are something stupid like spine out of whack from bad posture or too much screen time. I read that stress can release cortisol which can reduce magnesium. Maybe thats it. I haven't barely had any real downtime. Even my days off are days on. Hopefully having another highly productive team member will help.
Masumi said maybe my recent dental work through off my something or other. My dad had some horrible neuro thing called trigeminal neuralgia. I hope it's not that.
Considering the Crohns went away and I thought I was going to did, I am willing to believe there is a resolution.

Clinton Bailey Farmers Market - Italian Flat BeansCategory: food
OK I'm not stopping till every I know goes and tells me how awesome it was.
These are Italian flat beans. I think I paid somewhere around $2 for a quart but maybe it was a slightly larger quantity. Every bean was perfect.

Hopefully the migranes stop soon. I hate even walking into Buffalo General and I have never heard of a good experience in their ER.
