Pride Stripteasers Event 2012
Category: photos
So think I all ready mentioned that I missed the Dyke March and it was my own fault someone not sure where the time vanished to and I left and they got a head of me and I didn't catch up so.... Early on in the day I went to the lloyds thing and that was fun (Have a post on it) then at night it time for I forget the official name of the bands and the stripteasers at Niethchez's ....

So I think what I will do is kinda do the highlights and make it all one Post?

I've seen them before but never know there name yes the pictures will be dark of this old style music band with like a stand up base and they where great....

With not knowing how well they translate on here I didn't want to go to crazy with the pix hoping that kinda gives the story... The bits was that the blonde was a news reporter and that they had news stories... One was about how the wig shop was turning people gay or something.... There was the teacher with a student... That flasher/killer... Then I don't know the story but they have done that automatic boy one before but not like that.... It was a lot of fun..... Now then after this the stamplickers did a normal set with everyone on stage and some photos of that.... But what is interesting is how the stage was a bit extended people would dance up there so.... Yes some of them where the Burlesque performers.....

I can't really give the vibe of what it was like for those dancing on the floor but good time and good music it was fun....... Hope the pictures convey it...I have no idea if anyone I know was there I didn't see anyone but that doesn't mean anything.....

Pride Parade 2012
Category: photos
I guess Picture wise and time wise the thing that makes the most sense is to do the Pride Parade now and then maybe get to the stripteasers on Tues? I was supposed to go to the DYKE March but lost time some how and then they got ahead of me and I forgot the route ....Now with mobile internet like on a phone I don't know as I could have gotten ahead of them but I could have at least gone the right way.... See I was thinking of last years way but also for some reason Klienhans wouldn't let them use the lot......

One thing I have to say is I'm not sure how I feel about politicians being in the Parade... Part of me thinks it is great here is someone saying they support this.... But at the same time I see it as a way of promoting them selves like why not just walk with others .... I guess what I think could happen is that at some point you might get people walking in it who don't support the cause to get attention or maybe even cause other people are in it..... But I also feel the same way about lays chips... Or maybe it is just the name.... I guess in the end both things are good.... Another positive is that the people giving out things like condoms give them out and not just toss them and the things for the kids like beads or candy are given to them... That way you aren't tossing condoms to kids.....

Oh I'm also glad to see that Terror Tech was there... Yes the zombies and other things people... I think that maybe that will bring out more supporters to the parade that is also why I kinda think the politicians and companies are good......

After the parade was over I followed it a bit to my way home and went down north so here are some pictures from that....

Soda Ban? Article for ?Tinypliny?
Category: news
So Even before I read this article I thought Hey a bet if (e:tinypliny) is on the internet this is an article she would find interesting now I have to read it... But not only her anyone who thinks about health and how we have a right to drink what we want but maybe there should be a tax on bad stuff... Or maybe the government shouldn't subsidize corn?

NEW YORK (Reuters) - New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg plans to propose a far-reaching municipal ban on sales of large-size sugary beverages by restaurants, mobile food carts, movie theaters and delis, his administration said on Wednesday.
A document outlining the proposal said it was aimed at fighting an epidemic of obesity, citing public health statistics showing that 58 percent of New York City adults and nearly 40 percent of city public school students are obese or overweight.
The proposal defines sugary drinks as beverages that are "sweetened with sugar or another caloric sweetener that contain more than 25 calories per 8 fluid ounces and contains less than 51 percent milk or milk substitute by volume as an ingredient."

It would impact drinks sold in containers larger than 16 ounces, but would not impact the sale of diet soda or dairy-based drinks.
Americans consume 200 to 300 more calories every day than they did 30 years ago, according to the Bloomberg administration's analysis.
Bloomberg has used the power of the city government to promote other health measures, including a campaign to cut down on salt and a ban on trans fats in restaurant food, as well as a requirement that chain restaurants display calorie counts.

In 2003, the city banned smoking in bars and restaurants, generating howls of protest at the time from smokers and non-smokers who saw it as a case of government creeping into private lives, but the law has since become widely accepted.
Bloomberg, a political independent, is in the middle of his third four-year term as New York City mayor.
The response to Bloomberg's public health initiatives have been mixed. Earlier this month, a Quinnipiac University poll found that 45 percent of New York voters thought the government should discourage unhealthy eating and drinking habits, while 48 percent said the government shouldn't get involved.
Still, many of those initiatives, including the smoking ban, have become models for other cities.
The proposed ban on sugary drinks requires the approval of the city's Board of Health. It will be submitted to the board on June 12.

In a statement, a spokesman for the New York City Beverage Association challenged Bloomberg's assertion that the consumption of soda was driving obesity rates.
"It's time for serious health professionals to move on and seek solutions that are going to actually curb obesity," said spokesman Stefan Friedman. "These zealous proposals just distract from the hard work that needs to be done on this front."

For anyone who reads me Do you think the box or " " bubble is a better way to read something.... I kinda think that the box is but not sure....

So here is my question what will the movies sell for you to drink now? Also I wonder flavored water might be pretty close to this... Now lets say they just cut the size of the soda will anyone get the big popcorn anymore?

The little bit of an issue I Have with this though is that it acts like Diet Pop is ok.... Not that I'm going to fund it... But it would be interesting to look into how Diet pop and regular pop by brand of course very ..... They do taste different but most diet pop doesn't toss out the sugar they use some fake stuff and hasn't all that fake stuff been found like it does damage to you if the pop is left out in the back of the truck bed on a hot day......

Also though this doesn't address the real issue... As some comedian said have you ever noticed the only people drinking diet Soda are fat? In other words it doesn't work... See what often happens is people think oh it is diet so I can have more of it.... Also some people think oh I'll get this huge meal and oh a diet soda...don't want to get full or anything or they think that like counters the bad stuff.....

metalpeter - 06/02/12 11:58
