Good Morning
Category: summer solstice
I think every morning I just love getting up early for the longest day of the year. Stepping outside and just seeing the contrast of the moon with the violet and orange just imprints what beauty this world holds. Yes, the birds are chirping wildly but again the there is just something about being surrounded by them that puts me at ease.

So I come in this morning and find out that there was a guy last night around midnight that leaped to his death from the 4th (blue) level of the parking garage. They say that he "was not a patron" but come on. Why would you go to leap into the coach bus parking area as your final act on earth if you were not at the casino doing something else in the first place?

It is just another brick in the soul-sucking aspect of this place. The major one that is troubling me is in my LJ and under the rarely used for myself "FRIENDS ONLY" security level.

So I took the day off yesterday and after running around for really important things I ended up in Niagara Falls Ontario. It was a bit later than I wanted to but it was satisfying none the less. The only downer was for some reason I wanted to go to this beer patio on Clifton Hill. it doesn't exist in its old form any longer as it is now a patio bar for the Chilli's downstairs. It's not don't like Chilli's but there was this Karaoke act by this name named "The Wrench" back in the day and it was hilarious. It is funny that in some aspects they are trying to bring back the good stuff from about 15 years ago. Just look at the Ferris Wheel that the reconstructed, that was once in the Bus Parking lot of Casino Niagara.

So I just walked down the hill and took in all the "Honky Tonk" and proceeded to the Casino Niagara Poker Room. After about 5 hours I doubled by $80 buy in on the 2-4 LIMIT game and called it a night. In some weird was I was pretty satisfied just being a "tourist" over there yesterday. I spent some good times in the building Casino Niagara is housed in when it was Maple Leaf Village and a really tiny amusement park. Now almost 20 years later I'm going to take my mind off of thing, all be it in a more "adult" way but still something about it just made me happy. Yea, it could have been me winning a bit but still the bright sun, warm air, mindless tourists, gaudy tourist attractions, gambling, beer, young and old people the Falls down the street it just seemed perfect.

A bit of a surprise, but a good time

So I finally convinced my good college buddy Junior to come out to Thursday at the Square before he moves back to NYC. He asked me if I wanted to stop by his buddy's/co-workers place along the way. When he told me he lived on Washington St. I knew exactly what building it was, Holling Place next to Diablo. Although we snuck in through the security Door it we didn't realize that units 6 and up were on the right side and in an entire different section and building. We called him and found the place.

It was TOTALLY PIMP. 5th floor loft style the whole bachelor pad works et all. The story is that his roommate's family ended up with a Multi-Million construction accident settlement and that is why the place was stocked. Then again they said they were the first to sign a lease in the building and that also helps to the fact that they only pay a combined total of 640 a month. Not bad at all. The one lesson that he learned from Jr. was this" If you don't have $ find a roommate who does!" Crazy, that is his quote not mine.

After finally prying Jr away from his gawking of a bachelor pad we hit the square and ran into ((e:ladycroft)) Had a descent time, but only caught a few songs from Soullive :-( I ended up being one of those people more absorbed into the social aspect of the square than the music. After he headed back to 501 Washington they watched the finals on ch 7 and then I begged them to head out to Quote.

Needles to say although I missed the Band I wanted to see the most seeing the inside of that building was very interesting. So after taking it easy after the square I am almost out of here for the a long weekend!!! Now I have to figure out what to do with myself.

Thanks again ((e:ladycroft)) for a great time after the square at Quote. At least one man in this world RECOGNIZES!!!!

Nevermind..apparently I need reading lessons..lol. But still...Junior...wow..there's a kid I haven't thought about in AGES. Used to hang with him on occasion when I lived with Goldberg, Cutt, and Wells.

Wait wait wait...Junior is living in a pimp pad in B-LO?!! When did this happen?! Last I knew, he was in Canada, trying to play rugby. (If this is the same Junior...NU...the "whitest black man on earth"..small...lol)

Yea, This place sucks...

So a now former cocktail waitress came in yesterday and cashed out the remainder of her poker chips that she recieved as tips. Then she told me that she no longer works here anymore.

She was the roomate of the Iraqi veteren that was stabbed on Amherst St. After all she did for someone that went over there, agree or disagree with the BS over there she deserved better. Now they have a "points" system here at work where if you mis x# of days you are toast. Well in actuality we just know that it is just for a paper trail to get rid of you, if they don't like you. People that are a always calling in get a free pass if you play your politics right.

The point that I am trying to make is if we had more protection for same sex partners, ect this would have never happend. She could have just went Family Leave Act and that was it. But since she was just a "roomate" and missed too many days she was fired.

I can't wait to get the F out of this place soon.

Ignorant, Greedy, Pigs!

Heh, I called in sick on Sunday partly to see if they write me up, where I work-- you're allowed to miss 5 days, and I think it was either my 5th or 6th. One of my coworkers got a writeup for missing her 5th day, but another coworker swears she's missed 7 so far and hasn't heard anything about it.

So I figure, I hate the job, I'll be the test case. See if I get written up.

I sort of hope they fire me, as I've been here long enough now to get unemployment, and I could use me a vacation.

But, yes, BS is BS and it's funny how "rules" whose purpose is to make things "fair" never wind up evenly-enforced.
