a day in the lifeHappy St Patty's Day! I'm not even Irish. Just wanted to stop by, it's going to be another "office space day"! I have no projects at work to work on today. i wish I could connect to my home PC so I could work on my personal site. But, both mac's are off. yuk.
Does anyone play xbox live or online community gaming? I was playing ESPN hockey 2005 yesterday against a random opponent. He pissed me off, all I wanted to do was play a game win or lose. He was up 6-0, and called me a loser and stopped playing. So everytime his team got the puck, the player would stand there, It took the fun out of the game. I just wanted to play to play and he wanted someone better. I say, "Don't go online if you don't want to play all kinds of opponents!"
Anyways, that is my rave for the day. So, whoever was playing scud1981 in ESPN hockey on xbox live yesterday, you receive todays "last-vito."

help with IBM - please!I am having trouble installing windows XP on my girlfriend old laptop! Can anyone give me a few pointers, I have searched the net with no success.??
I started the computer up and put the XP install disc in the DVD drive. I started the instal process, and it crapped out halfway through the formating of the hard disk. This was due to a unsecured HD. I fixed that problem, and rebooted from the CD, but now I get a not enough memory error from the install CD. It says I need 64MB of RAM to load windows. There is 32MB on the board, and a 64mb chip in one of the two memory slots. The computer is a IBM thinkpad 600. with a 300MHz processor.
My girlfriend only uses the computer for Microsoft Office and email. I didn't have a copy of the old Windows NT version, that is why I am trying to install XP. Does anyone know how I can get the laptop to recognize the memory? I was thinking of installing a free version of linux so that I could see if the memory chip was bad and then install the XP from there. But, I'd rather not waste all that time if I don't have to.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
PS. I also tryed running a memory test from the easy setup BIOS screen. It does not work.

eSTRIP viewMy desk is going to be awfuly cluttered as soon as I get my pc up and running with another monitor! Has anyone experimented with monitor switches? I want to run dual monitors off both of my desktops and posible have the option to have a spare hookup for my powerbook. If anyone has any tips, like brands to stay away from, let me know. Thanks.
