In Need of Good Reading MaterialsI went to the Terry Library this evening, but alas, it was closed. I suppose I'll just have to continue reading my vast collection of right-wing literature until someone can mold my mind otherwise.

Independent Media DiscussionBob McChesney is coming to Buffalo to further that effort and all those
who understand the significant connections between an independent media
and authentic democracy will want to hear what he has to say. Because
media are so crucial to the work done in so many areas of progressive
politics, media reform deserves to be everyone's "second issue." Let's
get the media reform campaign in Western New York off to a good start by
generating a big turnout for this event...
Media Critic and Author Robert McChesney will be speaking at Buff State
on Tuesday March 30th @ 7:30 PM in the Bulger Communication Center
North Lecture Hall. Admission is free -- donations to support the Buffalo
Coalition for Progressive Media (BCPM) will be accepted. The event is
sponsored by the Niagara University Communication Studies Department, the
Buffalo State College Communication Dept and the BCPM. Campus guests
can park in any student or faculty parking spot -- parking enforcement
will be suspended for this event.
McChesney is author of eight books including "Corporate Media and the
Threat to Democracy," "Rich Media Poor Democracy: Communication Politics
in Dubious Times," and "Our Media Not Theirs: The Democratic Struggle
Against Corporate Media."
