Land of the free, home of the dumbFirst there's this:
Arkansas coach Houston Nutt said that players caught loafing will no longer wear pink jerseys during practices in an effort to avoid offending breast cancer survivors.
Nutt received negative reaction from people when they saw the players in the pink jerseys. Breast cancer survivors and their supporters often wear pink ribbons, and the nationwide Race for the Cure, which raises funds for breast cancer research, uses the color pink as well.
"That's the last think I want to do, is to offend a cancer victim, someone who I know how strong and brave they are," Nutt said. "That was the last thing on our mind, to discredit somebody who has shown a lot of toughness. I've had members of my family who had cancer."
Nutt said the coaches are considering another color, possibly burnt orange, the color of Arkansas rival Texas.
Now as ridiculous as this story sounds it get's a little funnier, I guess people started calling the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the Komen Ozark Race for the Cure complaining about this absurd censorship, and threatened to withdraw funds. So now the breast cancer people come out with there statement saying they had nothing to do with the complaint, and they weren't offended.
So what we're left with is the rule of the minority, a couple of morons decide whats offensive or not and they complain until they get there way. Last year I remember a story on the news about a Seattle school that stopped celebrating Halloween, because some Wikken parents thought the idea of the " Scary Witch " was offensive to there religion. I don't know who's worse, the ones who complain or those who listen.

Melancholy Memories So I picked my first flower of 2005 today. It's a glimmer of hope that spring will be here soon. I'm sure winter hasn't left yet, but he's definitely winding down. I can smelll the grass again, visions of childhood fill my head, bike riding, my childhood home, and my little blue suit I wore on Easter when I was like 4. Good feelings, It's terrific how the mind can paint pictures with scent. But nothing brings me back more than the smel of lilacs, I can't wait. Lilacs, to me, are happiness. A time machine to a time when I was fearless, ignorant, and on top of the world. Melancholy memories, my mind swirls around them, I'm filled with calm and longing. The past is so close I can smell it, because no matter how much I change, how much the world changes, I'll always have Lilacs and fresh cut grass. I am so grateful for that.

In like a lion Well I'm sure we can all agree, winter blows. It's funny I've lived here my entire life and every year I can't believe how long winter is. How do we forget so fast, how do forget 6 MONTHS of winter ??? Well in less than two months I'll be smelling the roses in Europe, can't wait. Maybe I'll even come back.

The Fantastic Four I'm very worried about this new fantastic four movie. I just can't see any way that it could be good. The worst part is, I'm sure I'll see it just to prove myself right. I was excited about Spidy, and the Punisher was a wonderfully violent movie, but whats next ? I know, how about another Captain America movie or even better all of the Avengers. Suck Suck Suck. What was the last original movie to come out ? It's all remakes, cartoons/comics, novels, or just stealing the premise of another movie. I wonder if I'll ever get to use my free movie passes ?
