some things
[inlink]news,404[/inlink]yeah, i can hear the radio. that a/v thing doesn't work for me though. i'm sure i just don't have the right software or something.

so, i'm watching this "documentary" on SciFi about M. Night Shyamalan. i thought it was going to be interesting, but it's a fake like Blair Witch style documentary. in the very beginning credits it even has the "written by:". i'm pretty disappointed. this day is not going well. i couldn't get ice cream because it's raining and someone (eh hem) wouldn't go with me). oh well. i guess i don't really need to eat ice cream after i ate chinese food anyway.

i really hate it here
why do people in Buffalo have to be so god damned rude all the time? what ever happened to good old neighborly hospitality?
we had first planned to go to the pet store on hertel and leave the car there, and walk to the italian festival. well, no, that wasn't possible, because, even though i was a customer, i wasn't allowed to leave my car there.
so, we drove next door to the K-Mart, thinking we had to pay $3 to park. Turns out it was just a donation for a child abuse group (which I do believe is a good cause) but it made me mad that the word "donation" on the sign was miniscule. so we parked there.
we walked down to the festival and it started to rain. we thought we would just tough it out, but then it started to pour. so we went in a tent that said "welcome to the festival blah blah". turns out it was a beer tent, which you couldn't have realized until you see the beer guy all the way in the back. so we stood there for a few minutes trying to dry off a little bit. then the beer guy comes over and says "can i see some id" we're like, uh, sure...then he asks "can i get you anything?" we said no. so he told us to leave. he then went around and told like 10 other people they had to leave, including a very elderly woman in a wheelchair. that's just messed up. it's pouring and we were at a festival celebrating community and this guy is telling us to leave his tent if we aren't going to buy anything, even though there were hardly any people there.
so we left the whole thing and said fuck it. we walked back to the K-mart parking lot, and sure enough the people collecting donations are gone. apparently the poor children who are being beaten by their parents are a less important issue than the people collecting money staying dry.

we are going to order chinese take-out.

what a day.

Curious

I really don't know how I feel about this. Where did you find the article? It seems like something stupid our government would do. Classic Thomas More scenario...create theives and then arrest them. Or in this case, create lunatics and then prosecute them and call them cowards for not wanting to murder people.

historical irony
So I went to see Henry IV, Part 1 at Delaware Park tonight and it was really good.

Karma was in balance for once today, when a woman and her daughter plopped their chairs directly in front of us and we couldn't see, because we were sitting on the ground. I got upset but I just let it go, and then her pop exploded on her. Instant karma. I loved it.

You know how in Shakespeare's time little boys played the parts of women? Well, in this production, women played the parts of men. Ironic.

a conversation about the size of things
"is it a giant?"
....."no, it's a shrimp"
"a jumbo shrimp?"
