Opie & Anthony SuckOpie & Anthony suck. Theres no other way about it. Jim Norton is kinda funny. But in general I can only listen to their show for maybe 5 minutes before tearing my eyes out.
First off, you have to wait for a couple minutes for the show to switch back on after comercials (probably because the local commercials ended first and they are waiting for the syndication to come piping back through). So you have to wait through horrible mock-techno music to get to their show. Then the show gets there and its just not funny. Or even fun to listen to for that matter.
Now I don't blame this all on O&A. See I have a theory. I figure how funny can morning radio really be, I mean its news and comedy rolled into one. But these guys don't have the local presence or news or happenings that Shred & Ragan had to pull from. They have to go pure comedy, everyday, and the material just isn't up to snuff.
I miss Shred and Ragan. It actually had to do with our community, the Niagara Falls Police Blotter. The contests. Ah the good ol' days. We'll be talking to our kids one day saying, "I remember a day when disc jockies used to live in the cities they broadcast in". And they'll be all like, "Oh Grandpa your crazy, music and humor has been illegal now for 30 years."

i dunno... i have to say I haven't listened to morning radio in years, and don't miss it one bit. Particularly the stupid DJ's...

Never listened to Opie so I can't really comment on them. One of the problems with morning radio is that it is on everyday. Do have any idea how much material that is. Even the best comics in the world couldn't go on stage in buffalo and make fun of everything that day, then do a differant act in detroit the next night .Does Leno and Letterman do that yeah but they have a lot of writers and some of there best jokes people sit silently on and then the band guys laugf at everything. The other thing that hurt morning radio is the FCC crackdown you can't say anything anymore. I remeber when S&R talked about Porn Reviews on friday. Then there was eternity the tall blond and she was verry dirty. That also really cuts down on material. What I don't like about 97 rock is they all think they are funny, oh good they are awfull so no more 97 rock in the mornings any more. What makes it even worse is one of those guys does stand up professionaly. Most of the morning radio stuff isn't stand up comedy funny it is more being funny with your buddies wich is great when with your buddies, but not to broadcast.

My Power Supply Blew UpYep, last night while playing World of Warcraft I heard a pop come from inside my machine, which then turned off immediately. So I laid it down and to look at the inside and noticed the smell of sulfur. So I look at the inside and notice grey smoke coming out of the power supply.
I wait awhile, try turning on the computer again. It works. Then the grey smoke comes back out. I thought it'd be pretty dangerous to run a computer with smoke coming out of it. Damn power supplies.
P.S. I was going to try making an overclocking joke, but it just didn't seem like it'd be worth it.

UB Buffalo ContestSo I've got a new assignment from work today. Its called UB Buffalos Seen 'Round he World'. Pretty much its a contest to take pictures of this UB squeezie buffalo or shop a buffalo into a picture then put your company name on it. Then they'll be displayed at a recruiting fair at UB and people will vote on the best.
Now I work for TCS, Tata Consultancy Services, which operates around the globe. So the possibilities are pretty limitless. Now I just need an idea.
So if anyone wants to come up with an idea for this and let me know; I will promise to give you a cookie. And if its a good idea that I base the project on, I will give you a whole box of cookies. And the good ones from Wegmans, the soft ones with frosting and sprinkles on top. They fill you up a bit, but they are freaking great. Alright, you have your mission. GO!
