I think the sunshine really helps put people in a better mood. I know I find myself happier. I can finally sit outside with the dog and just relax after work. It's nice not being cooped up in the house all night. Not to mention, the fresh air helps tire the puppy out so I can sleep :)

I think it is highly unusual for Buffalo for it to be so nice this early in May. Forget about the fact that I sit at work for the greater part of the day. It's nice to walk out afterward and feel relieved that it's not cold or raining/snowing. It matters not that I'm stuck inside all day... I'll take it when I can get it!
I'm paying my mom rent each month and pull my weight in keeping the house clean.

What's the problem, you ask?

Well, her boyfriend was telling me the other day that some place is having a big furniture sale. He added that it would be good for 'someone planning on moving out' to go stock up on things to furnish an apartment. So he was saying that I should be moving out... I have all intentions of it, just not yet. First of all, I need to have a roommate because there's no way I can afford an apartment on my own yet. Secondly, I need to find a place and with a huge dog, that's not always an easy task.

I could understand him bringing this up if he was living with us and I was in the way, but he's not and I'm never home anyway. I don't understand why he would just think to bring this up to me unless my mom said to him that she wanted me out. I really don't think that's the case though because I know she would just tell me.

Effin people piss me off... surprise, surprise. I really need to start writing in here when something good happens. I guess that would require something good to happen first.
Why is it, that if you are seen together with one particular person on a regular basis, people begin to assume that you're dating? I don't see what the problem is and I can't stand it that people then say "why don't you just date?" That drives me effin nuts! We don't date because we don't want to. If we did, we would. Simple as that. Mind your own damn business and keep your comments to yourself. Not asking too much, am I? God, it's not like we're even the "friends with benefits" type. We show no other affection for each other than simply being friendly. There's no physical interaction other than the occasional punch in the arm or grabbing of the ass. JK on the ass grabbing. Seriously though, mind your business!

So I work with this guy who's a complete moron (I know, I know, who doesn't?) The office dubbed him Ding-Dong. In my profession there is definitely the proverbial food chain and I'll be honest, I'm pretty close to the bottom. We'll just call me entry level. Granted, I've only had my degree for not even a year yet so I think that the amount of responsibility that I've been granted at work is pretty impressive. Not to mention, I have not gone to grad school and am only making a dollar less than another person here that has... I have 3 of my own projects (well 2 now but I'll get to that in a second). I got a bonus at Christmas when I'd only been here 3 months, but to top it all off, the big boss thinks I'm great.

I'm not one to brag and if it sounds like I'm full of myself, I'm not. This is just some background on this guy which makes this story all the sweeter. So, I know not all of you are in the construction industry, but I'm pretty sure that most of you would understand that you can't support a 3 story building with 2x4's and styrofoam insulation. It scares me that this guy is licensed and has the ability to approve his own designs because someone is going to die one of these days. To make matters worse, he designs assisted living (nursing) homes and health care facilities... Yeah, real good to make the geriatrics a nice sturdy home.

Anyway, the reason this is the so-called best day of my life is that he quit today! I'm no longer working on his project (which is why I'm down to 2) and it's really amazing how much lighter I feel. I might actually look forward to going to work from now on... yeah, probably not.
I like to think of it as having an active involvement in society.

Anyhow, one particular case they were talking about was how a woman (I think in Virginia) began reviewing bills passed by the government. She came across one that stated that any woman who loses a child during pregnancy should be required to notify the authorities. How ridiculous is that!? So, any woman that has a miscarriage or stillborn is required to (during a time of grief) call the police and reaffirm the fact that their child is dead. Now the politician said that he never intended for it to be taken that way, he merely wanted to try and put a stop to the rising numbers of women abandoning their newborns on the side of the road. I don't think that the bill had been passed yet and was still up for review and editing. Maybe the woman (sorry I don't remember her name or have time to research) jumped the gun in posting her blog bashing this guy too soon, but come on now.
