Watched 6 seasons of Lost...
Category: tv
... and all I got was a crumby rehash of Jacob's Ladder.

(If you haven't seen Jacob's Ladder, you should b/c it's bloody brilliant.)

Jacob's Ladder = A film starring Tim Robbins as a Vietnam Vet experiencing psychological issues that may or may not be real. (Just rent it, it's a good film that I refuse to spoil...)

Lost = 6 seasons of a TV show that ends in a rip off of the above mentioned Jacob's Ladder.

Hmm - I don't intend seeing both. Could you please post a 1-2 line summary for the ADD-afflicted on (e:strip)?

some mp3's and a muppet movie
Category: music
Wow. I'd kinda forgotten I had this journal page. Oh well, maybe I'll start using it again as the "Facebook" thing is getting old. (An iphone app for e-strip would probably make me use this site more, as I'm lazy like that.)

Anyhow, at the request of Chris ((e:Ruleofblue)), I've finally posted some of the songs I've been recording on ReverbNation.com. (Feel free to pop over and download some free mp3's if you want.)

It's really just a mixture of tracks I've recorded @ home. No real theme or style. I recoeded everything myself, but I think some of these came out OK. No band to speak of and I'll not be bugging anyone to come see any live shows.

Anyhow, there's 4 songs up there now and I'll be adding a few more when I finish mixing them.

The first track I posted is a ska song. I decided it needed a video and that video needed muppets. (In my opinion, everything is better when muppets are added.)

Watching the video now, I totally should have included the scene where I get the muppets drunk... perhaps I'll do a "director's cut" next...

I figured as much. The android app looks very convenient.

I know apple's been a bit prickish with the app store, but just wondered if a port of the android app was forthcoming. It can't hurt to ask. :)

I get a new phone every year (I work for a mobile messaging company, so I gotta test the latest thing.) I might consider switching to an android phone someday, but right now, I prefer the iphone as I use the ipod function so damned much. (The mp3 players in the android phones never seem as well designed as the ipod interface.)

There is very little chance of an iphone app happening unless (e:jim) builds it. You can't make iphone apps from systems other than mac, and I don't have a mac since I switched to linux. Also you have to pay $100 to be an iphone developer and there is no guarantee your app makes it into the store. That is one of the main reasons I switched to android.

However, I have set it up so you can post to estrip from iphone using email which is how (e:jim), (e:matthew), (e:terry) and (e:james) post pics. You can set it up in your mobile email preferences :::link::: and then just select pictures from your iphone gallery and email them to estrip.

You can also multi-select images in the gallery and choose send via email.

If anyone is interested in building apps for other platforms I can give the the details of what you app needs to send to post.

el palenque
Category: food
Chris and I are enjoying a yummy dinner at El Palenque in amherst.

I dunno what "el palenque" means. From the menu, it must mean "the cock fight."

Anyhow, the food rocks. Sure, it all looks like brown goop, but it's yummy goop!

If you're looking for some decent Mexican chow, hit this place. Yum!

(e:Uncutsaniflush) and i go there regularly... i have posted about it quite a few times, even. One of our fav TexMex places. The veggie options are pretty good!
scott - 01/18/08 21:31
the food's good, and cheap as hell, too. I think almost everything on the menu is $7 to $10. I love that place. I'm not Mexican, but I've heard the food is pretty authentic.
Definitely worth a visit.

I have been wondering about that place. You are correct, that is actually a cock fighting arena. I did look it up to make sure. Not sure if animal abuse for sport is such a great name for a restaurant, but hey it sounds cool.

Lucadors fly high!
A good friend makes you more than you thought you could be.

A good friend can even make you into a lucador.

I have a good friend, indeed.
