e:strip is more than just a web site; it's a community. Like all communities, e:strip is constantly changing. This guide is intended to give you the basic information needed to easily publish entries and communicate with other e:peeps.
e:strip has terms of service rules that govern the conduct of all e:peeps. If you follow the golden rule – treat others as you'd like to be treated – you'll be just fine.
e:strip members are a friendly bunch. If you have a question, ask someone. If you have a comment about someone's entry, add it. If you have a suggestion for a new feature or change, tell e:paul.
e:strip values creativity . Writing is the most popular, and in some ways most convenient, way to create an entry, but you should think big. Audio files (.mp3, .wav), videos, digital pictures and original drawings are all welcome here.
To become an author of your own journal, click on the sign up button at the very top of the site above the banner. Once you fill out the form, wait for the confirmation email and click on the link inside. This will confirm your email address and make you a full member of the site with journal publication and media upload privileges. If you are having any trouble confirming your email, contact e:paul by sending a message using the contact link under the main site banner.
Once you confirm your email you can log in to the site by entering your username and password into the login form at the top of the site. Once you are in, the login in form changes to your control panel. Click on the typewriter to begin publishing. This will take you to your journal where you should see a journal where you shoudl see a bar that says "Click here to open publish box." Once you click it your journal publication form should open. To publish a journal, fill out a title, then enter the entry in the box below the title and click on the publish button. Your name will show up in the latest entries list and other people will be able to see your entry.
When logged in you should see a bunch of icons at the bottom of every jorunal entry you have published. The trash can will delete the entry and the typerwriter icon will let you edit the entry. more to come soon...
To upload a new userpic click on your userpic on your journal. When you first start your journal, you should see a blue defualt face userpic. Click on that to upload your own file. Userpics are 125 px wide by 150px tall. If you upload any other size, you image will appear stretched or squished.
To upload a new usersound click on the brown radio icon in your control panel. Userpics must be in mp3 format and can be up to 5MB in size. To play a users usersound click on the playbutton under their userpic.
