Paul's Journal from 07/2009

07/02/09 00:23 - 65.ºF - ID#49156Category: lukaLuka - the douchebag
I am going to be blunt about it - I fucking hate him and I am sick about hearing from everyone else how much they hate him. Seriously, I even got phone calls from four people about it.

He, the person or bot, represents the global part of internet I created estrip to get away from. He has nothing to do with our town, nothing he ever writes will, he is not related to anyone and I just realized his relation to scientology.

Why would anyone in his position bring their drama here other than to take advantage of the SEO.

Basically, I just want him gone and so do a lot of you as I have gotten a whole bunch of emails about it. I would prefer we just be open about it.

So I am torn on how to deal with it. He never responds and some of his text comes from other sources which makes me think he is just a robot. If that is the case I have no problem just deleting him at once.

Another part of me thinks he is a real person just trying to promote his disgusting commercial "internet brand." but in that case I think he would respond.

What do you guys think? I was thinking about just making a terms of service adjustment that requires a regular estrip member to sponsor out of towners. I mean imagine if a whole slew of lukabots decided to join.

The scientology thing is really just the last straw for me. When he first came on, I came across that same article he wrote for another site in 2007.

hey, maybe we got off on the wrong foot. I understand I may come accross as unlikeable, however, I believe blogging is speaking about whats on my mind and I share alot and I like to blog alot, its very theraputic to me.
I find your site a good outlet for me and I find it easy. A friend told me about it. If at any point you would rather not have me on your site, I can understand.

All the best,
Kind Regards
Luka Magnotta big_grin

Hey Luka,
Glad you responded.

I just thought you were a robot and that made me angry. Well that and to be perfectly honest, the thought that you might have been a scientologist bot, which would be my personal antichrist.. I am sure they are not all bad, but I had a run in with a couple bad ones here in Buffalo.

Some of my nastier comments were just trying to get you to respond. I'll try and be nicer now that I know you are a real person.

I worked really hard to make estrip a totally non-commercial, local gathering-space. For about 6 years now we have remained kind of off the radar and a pretty small close knit community. My fear is that an influx of internet outsiders would ruin the small community vibe that the members go there for.

I guess once you start interacting with people they will probably like you a lot more. Its not like facebook or myspace where there are cliques and friend's lists, etc. Everyone is in one big group and they all pretty much read and comment on each others journal.

Who is your friend that suggested estrip. I am so curious?

I am going to post this so they everyone knows what's up.
Paul

This picture was from the back of the beer Delivery truck near kunis.
e:enknot mentioned it looked like a Warcraft ad for beer which I
though would be perfect for e:Terry

07/04/09 12:09 - 65.ºF - ID#49185Category: peopleGreat night on the town
Last night I went out with e:jim and e:james and forgot to take any pictures.

We went out on Allen where we met a bunch of interesting people including a girl who was friends with e:enknot and megan and who had no pet furry animals. To everyone else that probably seems like no big deal but in the last ten years I have met maybe 1 or 2 people that have no furry pets, which I am terribly allergic to.

I think the best part of the evening was grilling steaks at like 3:00am instead of going to Jim's steak out. The only thing was the grill decided to run out of gas part way through, which sucked. Thank god for the broiler although we enjoyed it deliciously pink anyways. This picture is not of our steak but of a steak with a very similar look I stole fromlink

When I first saw this on the subway last night, i thought, what kind
of business person would name themselves lame al. Then I realized it
was Spanish.

The subway ride home from the fireworks was crazy, there were like 50
million people on the packed train.

07/05/09 21:43 - 67.ºF - ID#49201 pmoblCategory: foodFun burn and crab cakes
e:James and I hit Bennett beach for the first time this summer and
while it's not half as fun on a windless/waveless day, it was still
pretty awesome. I got sun burned for the first time in years although
it's pretty mild and just on the top of my chest. It seems like
wherever there is hair I don't burn and there is hair just about
everywhere.

The reason I look so crazy in this pic is because I was trying to
press my sun burn and show the white finger marks but it was almost
impossible to time with the iPhone camera. You can still see four white finger marks on my upper chest.

Afterwords, we ate at Dug's Dive on route five right near downtown but on the other side if the skyway. The seafood selection was amazing.

I want to go back asap. We both had crabcake burgers and then split a side order of butter topped with sweet potato fries, lol. I uploaded
some menu snapshots but sadly forgot to take pics of the actual food. I saw someone eating clams and they looked so good.

After that dinner we went to matt sisters birthday at pearl street and
ate another dinner and drank lots of beer.

Then it's one more stressful day of work followed by a bunch of day's
off while terry's mom is visiting.

I am pleased that the octopus remains on the kosta's menu. I wish
they still had the fresh calamari with roasted red peppers. For some
reason it went away in favor of fried calamari.
