First panic attack in a year. This is awesome. I frickin' hate myself sometimes.

December was 2 weeks of being mostly sick and semi-functional, a week of vacation, and a few days of holidays. Plus quitting smoking this week. No wonder one of my project's schedule has slipped a month, but still it's freaking me out. At least the big project is still on track.

Oh well, at least I have a nice co-worker who is covering my communication duties today.

Sorry, world, for spilling my crazy all over you today.

I wish it was culturally acceptable to take naps in the mid-afternoon. Then staying up until Midnight wouldn't make me wretched the next day.

I've created a site which aggregates and links to all the local Buffalo bloggers that I could find. It's been up a few days and I've shaken out most of the initial bugs.

This weekend I'll have time to add a few features like categorization and the ability to filter out sites you don't want to see, and it'll be even more useful.

I like to think of it as an inside-out e:strip. It'll never be a community of it's own like e:strip is, but instead it's a way to look outward to almost 200 individual sites, each of which represents someone who is passionate about writing and sharing. There's actually a lot more bloggers in Buffalo then I ever would have thought.

Let me know what you think and if there's any way I can make it better. If you use Internet Explorer let me know if it looks broken and if so what version of IE you're running.

^_^

OK, back to work. Just wanted to drop a quick note here before the day really gets started.

01/20/09 09:03 - 10ºF - ID#47456Category: politicsInauguration Day
For me, the best part of today is not that it's Obama's first day in office, but instead that it's the 43rd time that power has been transferred peacefully between presidential administrations. Obama is the 44th president in a chain stretching unbroken back to the founding of our country.

It's easy to forget what happens in some other countries. Seeing what happens in Zimbabwe and Myanmar, it's a relief to me to live in one of the countries that's moved beyond institutionalizing personal or party power above all else.

So, cheers to all the Presidents, Washington through George W Bush, who have stepped aside and let the political process govern who gets power.

We're not a perfect country, but we do get many things right and this is one of them.
