  • tinypliny 22:38 I wonder how Gardenmama is doing... Hasn't posted in ages. Is she alright mrmike?
  • tinypliny 21:51 I am SO wimpy, I amaze myself.
  • tinypliny 21:50 so I got one more pair of headphones, because my present one broke last week.
  • tinypliny 21:49 My neighbour downstairs has surround sound blow-the-planet-up speakers. One might think that the guilt would vanish into the sonic booms that occasionally wafts up from his flat, but NO. I still can't bring myself to get a decent pair of speakers because I am morbidly scared that I might disturb someone.
  • tinypliny 21:47 I can't believe that I am so guilt ridden. I am not even catholic
  • tinypliny 21:46 imagine the autobot theme squeaked out by mice with flu?
  • tinypliny 21:45 I really want to get speakers and broadcast it all over the building and beyond but too much guilt makes me stick to my headphones and not buy any speakers, My laptop sounds like a mouse with H1N1
  • tinypliny 21:43 rocks.
  • tinypliny 21:43 The transformers movie might be completely arbitrary scatterbrainedness but its soundtrack rock. Steve Jablonsky (of texas chainsaw massacre) is the ultimate soundtrack expert! :)

A friend sent me this picture of the falcon baby that fell out of its nest on one of the towers at University at Buffalo, last week.

Strangely, it reminds me of a puppy who has done something mischievous!

An awesome memory that floated past me once more today. Peter Allen's Tenterfield Saddler.

How can you not draw this conclusion hearing these two tunes??!

Exhibit A: Clint Mansell: Stay With Me (The Fountain OST, 2006)

Exhibit B: Linkin Park: Numb (Meteora, 2003)

They are so strangely similar. Though one is "rock"-ish and the other is "classical"-ish the underlying notes, repetition and rhythm share such a very strong resemblance. I wish I knew music theory to be able to analyze these tunes further.

Was Clint Mansell "inspired by" (of all the bands on this planet) Linkin Park??! The possibility completely blows my mind.

The event was a HUGE success! We ran out of saliva kits! Nearly 700 people signed up in around 5 hours. If you are still interested in contributing your might to this massive effort against cancer, we are thinking about setting up another recruitment event at the Ride for Roswell event! Watch this space!!!

e:mike and e:libertad, thanks so much for making it! I am so sorry we wrapped it up earlier than we thought - we hardly expected such an enthusiastic response! People were so motivated they dragged their entire teams to sign up! I think I must have consented more than 200 people personally. I feel drunk with happiness that people still believe in honest population research. I swear, I felt my life was worth living when I saw so many people. e:James, I was delirious when I saw you! Thank you SO MUCH for coming and donating!! You ROCK! m/ big_grin
