What are the journal dots and how do I use them

What are journal dots?

Journal dots are an easy way to browse and categorize your own journal entries.

You can also browse the journal entries of other e:peeps.

But you can only add or the change the categories of your own journals.

How to use journal dots

To use journal dots, click on "journal dots" below the user pic/avatar.

A new window opens.

The total number of journal entries is given. Each journal is represented by a dot.

There are two viewing modes:

"Month" - organises the journal entries by month of publication.

"All" - lumps the journal entries all together. The default viewing mode is "All"

Red dots have no category. Orange dots have a category.

The white border around a dot turns black to indicate that a journal entry has already been viewed during this session.

Hovering the cursor over a dot will turn it blue while a tooltip indicates the number and title of the journal entry

To read the journal entry, just click on the blue dot. The journal will open in the box next to the dots.

Adding or changing categories

To add or change a category for your own journals just type the category of your choice in the category box and click on the "categorize" button.

Browsing the journals of other e:peeps with journal dots

Once the journal dot window is open, you can check the journals of other e:peeps by clicking on the arrow at the end of the "select a journal" dropdown box to select the e:peep's journals you want to view.
