You can spell check any journal entry you have open for editing by clicking the SPELLCHECK button at the top of the publish box:

Spell check will display a copy of your journal entry in a new window with any words not found in the dictionary flagged in red with the suggested replacement in green next to them. Click on the word in green to make that replacement in your journal. If a flagged word is misspelled but the suggested replacement is not the right one, mouseover the misspelled word flagged in red to display a list of other suggestions to the right. Click on a word in the suggestion list to make that replacement in your journal.
You can also set your preferences so spellcheck will automatically correct common spelling errors as you type in your journal. To enable autospelling, open your preferences control panel and set Autospelling to "y."
