The most fun since gamebooy in 1989

The party was fun, the parade was fun. My new internet appliance, th nokia n800 rocks. No device has impressed my so much since the first time I saw the first gameboy, which I bought with my paper route money back in 1989. What it lacks in phone conection it makes up for in screen and functionality.

I am writing this from under the covers listening to one of my favorite streaming radio stations over wifi. In a city like san francisco that will soon be blanketed in wifi, this wouuld be amazing. It is even smart enough to know when i leave my homes wifi connnection that it should try and connect to the internet via my phone. Now to just replace my phone with a tiny one. It can even reAd the memory cards from my phone and camera.

Reminders of a friend lost to asia

I think about (e:jesse) a lot. I don't know exactly what about him made me think about him but lots of little things remind me of him.

This product for example
. It looks like something I think he would design even the advertisement. Look at the etching on the connectors.

image

Also I bought the nokia n800 internet device. I have wanted one forever. Not because I don't have 15 other obile ways to connect to the net on the go but because this one runs linux and they give you the developent kit. Also it has the opera browser and flash 8.

Here is a pic from the net, I will put up my own pics when it arrives.

Now Accepting Applications

Okay, so I was looking up fag hag on wikipedia (WIKIPEDIA - fag hag) to see if there were any tips about getting a new one and learned that there are also fag stags - straight guys that have an affinity toward hanging out with gay guys. This is new to me, but not so new for (e:flacidness) who seems to have a million fag stags. I just never had a name for the before.

Here is Margaret Cho's take on the term fag hag

I also learned the term fruit fly, which is similar to fag hag. I like it better.
image

So the point of this journal. The reason it is an advantage for a gay guy to have a most beautiful straight girl "fruit fly" instead of a haggish one is that other gay guys, might mistake you for a straight guy with a hot girlfriend - thus increasing your desirability.

In return you feed the beautiful fruit fly's ego and everyone wins. Its like a perfect symbiotic relationship. What the freakin' hell a I going to do with (e:lilho) leaves town.

I know it's early but I am just putting it out there. I am now accepting applications for a new fruit fly for Fall 2007. I have a lot to offer. Benefits depend on previous experience. Extreme physical beauty and comprehensive experience with gossiping are both required as is free time and close proximity. Damn, I guess I am demanding.

Riding Sweaty

(e:lilho) says it's like the gym equivalent of riding dirty. She is also guilty of riding glossy and riding sticky. At least she says so.

(e:lilho) and I saw probably the hottest guy I have ever seen besides matt and terry at the gym. I got to see much more of him than she did as turned out his locker was right behind mine.

It is pouring so much right now and we are trapped at spot downtown. I am drinking a meal in a glass.

Wandering Around

The snow is finally melting at the 24. Everything is muddy and all the bulbs are blooming. Rumour has it there are lots of flowers planted at our house.

Last night (e:theecarey) made pizza.

She even made gluten free pizza for (e:matthew)

I love watching dirty snow melt. It's hard to imagine how much dirt can be collected in snow.

Went to Kunis To Go on lexington for lunch with (e:enknot). I ordered lots of tasty food. Tony got the Bento box, I will let him tell you how yummy it was. Next time I am getting one.

Stardust returns to dust

I thought this might mean something to (e:terry) - growing up in Vegas and all. Stardust is no more.

Neosporin Induced Insanity

I had this cut in my mouth and decided to put neosporin on it despite the for external use only warning. I had the craziest most vivid dreams ever. I wonder if it is related. I could easily become a neosporin junky if it is related.

50 Court Street and Kick Snow

I went over downtown with (e:matthew) so that he could take pictures of the buildings in fog (e:matthew,793)

Looks like a giant new building is going to be erected at 50 court street which is way better than that nasty parking lot there now. The website is not so great. In fact, none of the links work in the main navigation, if you click the development link.

image

Their mockup on the sign outside is confusing because they have the Pearl st sign in the wrong spot. It should go Franklin then Niagara, not pearl and then Niagara St. I bet someone got paid a lot to make that design and I bet that they spent a lot to print them. You think someone would have checked the street names. I hope someone scrutinizes the building plans better than the media.

image

Here is the same spot currently.
image

They are taking the paint off the brick building that used to be club heat, and then was like ten other bars named after metals which then became tantra or something. That place is destined to never succeed. Maybe the paint is what was causing it to fail. The guy doing it, is doing it brick by brick with a blow torch.

First some paint removal liquid is applied.
image

And then he hits it with the blow torch.

I got some of my weather agression out on this ice formation.

Hurray, a fourth of my backyard is now snow free!

Sunny side of the street

I have more to talk about but I thought I would remark upon how great the weather is. I figure you can best tell by the crispness of my shadow.

Another Media Dump From Downtown

Last night, (e:lilho) and I took the subway to and walked home from the downtown Buffalo Athletic Club. Now that is dedication to being healthy (and to eye candy - which there was none of) It was so freakin' freezing I cannot even describe the feeling of really cold wind blowing down main street on a dark winter's night.

image

On the way home we had brought no money and had to walk. We couldn't even stop anywhere because we didn't even brings cards. It was strange to feel like I had nothing even if it was just during a 20 minute walk home to the mansion. I do not like the feeling of not having access to food money at all.

We jealously peaked in the window at spot and starred at all the mactoppers with yummy treats.

Today I made up for it by going with my work buddies and (e:megan) over to Chris' Deli at 395 Delaware Avenue. They were packed to the point we waited but it was totally worth it. I have never seen such tasty sandwiches.

I got the jerk turkey.
image

Everyone else had yummy stuff too.
image

image

image

image

When we got back jon had a blue screen of death on windows XP. It was so sad. I hate windows. In fact, I hate it so much that today I installed cygwin so I can have a bash shell on my windows box at work. No more stupid "dir" I was so sick of typing "ls" and having the computer say no.
image

Does anyone else have a secret love of kicking the crusty june snow? It is that part snow, part asphalt and cement chip stuff that never goes away until way late after winter is over. It is basically dirty snow that is combined with so many particles that it acts as a sort of adhesive between them. It is hard as rocks and when it breaks it cracks like glass sometimes. It is really fun to kick it.
image

This pole didn't like winter very much. Imagine if your skin peeled that much from weather exposure.
