Luggage Fiasco for Terry's Sister Alex

The Buffalo airport is so low budget and crappy. I don't care what kind of holiday excuses they have, the luggage situation was totally out of control. Look at these pictures. It could have been a thieves hayday.

This is Alex, (e:terry) 's sister from his home town of Las Vegas.

Oh the irony of brandnames

I am redoing all of my syllabi to use Maya instead of Cinema 4D over break because Canisius is switching. Maya is the recognized brandname 3D application in the US. So we are switching.

Ironically, Computer Arts magazine just rated Cinema 4D 9 higher.

CINEMA 4D wins heavyweight clash in Computer Arts!
What a fight night it was when the Big Five 3D apps squared up against each other in a major group test.
Computer Arts, the world's best-selling creative magazine, pitted the top five 3D animation products against each other.

In the blue corner was CINEMA 4D. In the red corner, Maya 6.0, SoftImage XSI 4.2, LightWave 8.0 and 3ds max 7.

The knockout punch proved to be CINEMA 4D's unbeatable combo of power and ease of use. Computer Arts declared CINEMA 4D the undisputed heavyweight king of 3D animation apps!

Computer Arts said:

"CINEMA 4D wins this group test because it has the most to offer for the widest range of 3D work. It's as capable an architectural visualiser as a character animation tool.

"(CINEMA 4D is) an excellent all-purpose 3D system that can tackle most 3D scenarios without making you jump through hoops ... consistently strong across the board.

"Overall, CINEMA 4D R9 combines ease of use with powerful features and an elegant workspace."

The big Day

Well (e:terry) 's sister arrives from Las vegas today and believ it or not - just as I predicted - he now has the flu. I am so glad we attended the flu party the other night. anyways, so I am off to the airport to go pick her up. I have to actually go into the gate area cause she is a minor.

Asteroid Mapping

After checking out (e:ajay) 's journal [inlink]ajay,221[/inlink] I went to the asteroid link and found this handy dandy little java applet where you can map the asteroids orbit on different dates.

Here is an image of the future, just before the asteroid hits.

Time Consuming Painting

I decided to try and draw a tribute to fall using hippaint, the drawing program for the t-mobile sidekick II. It is so time consuming painting with it. I think it is more intended to paint on top of photos or stamp dates and info on them.

It reminds me of "painting" on the commodore 64, although it does have a nice history palette like photoshop. Images can be up to 640 x640 and you can import photographic data from the camera utility. However, in this case I only used 120 x 90 with no foto, just to get a real sense of cell phone minimalist art.

Random Seafood

I was clearing out my phone for some christmas pics and found these seafood pics. Wegman's sea scallops and Casa Di Pizza fried calamari. I have eaten so much calamari this week, I could have consumed one giant sea squid.

(e:matthew) and I are making bacon wrapped scallops for new year's when my parents and Nonna come for dinner. That is our favorite food.

Jingle Bells

My mother bought Nonna a robotic snowman and dog reindeer. It sings and dances kind of like the animatronics from That place that became Major Magics or like the singing bass my father has
