Garden Walk so far is fun

So far I have just seen a few places around my area and there are some really nice gardens and flowers. I'm heading back out and one place I'm going to is a place to I think 3 (e:peeps) used to live. It really looks nice out in front of it. Hopefully my camera continues to work and by the end of the weekend or Monday I can have some pictures up. I saw someone giving a tour and that is pretty interesting. I forget how much and how quickly one goes through film. It also seems so weird to not be able to see what the pictures will look like, you get so used to that with a digital camera.

Garden Walk and refelecting back

So I'm not sure how the weather is going to be this weekend but on Saturday and Sunday form 10am to 4PM is the garden walk. I know if you check out their website you can find where to get maps before the walk and where to get them during the walk. I know that the senior center on Summer is where I'll go they are open during the walk, Plus if you donate money then you can get something for that money (that also means you can't claim it on your taxes or at least it used to be that way).

Info on the Buffalo Garden Walk

I would suggest getting a map from someplace but they do have a PDF map online that you can check out if you don't feel like going to get one.

Here is a link the the garden walks gallery

I will admit that it used to be the event that just brought everyone into "My Hood" and on a Sunday it was very weird. But now I like going and hope the weather is nice for it. On a side note kinda I have to reflect back and say that I first meet (e:tinypliny) (who will always be Tiny since I can't pronounce your name, not that it is hard to pronounce but it is to me so I then forget it since I can't say it so you will allways be known as tiny) at the Garden walk last year. It doesn't seem like a year ago. Wow that year went fast it really did. It will also be close to year to when I first sort of met (e:Fellyconnelly) and (e:Lauren) who are Felly and Lauren to me. It is weird how some (e:peeps) go by there name and some by there user name. Well it isn't weird really it is more like how some people get called by there name and some people get nick names and then sometimes you might get called by both. I just meet Ralphie for the first time the other day. I have to admit he is smaller and cuter then I thought he would be I see why he is "The Famous Ralplhie" . I have also meet a few new (e:peeps) recently and seen a few this spring/summer that I haven't seen in a long time (e:ladycroft)'s dinner comes to mind quickly in that regard. I don't really like to refer to (e:peeps) as New Peeps and old peeps but sometimes I do. I refer to myself as an old (e:peep) but not an originator at all, there where plenty of people who where here before I was. The point I'm trying to get at is (e:strip) is a community online and also one off line. But as new people join or other people are still part of the community but maybe don't post then the dynamic of the community changes. It is kinda like I hate to say high school but I will. When you start out you are a freshmen and meet people and if you are in clubs or sports some people are in different grades but as seniors leave you move up so some of the people you know are the same and some people change as the new freshmen come in and they meet new people. We don't change as much as highschool and we don't kick you out in four years but it is kinda the same in some ways. Do I have a real point not really, other then the group dynamic kinda changes over time, I'm not saying that is good or that is bad it just is. I like the old peeps and the new peeps and the middle peeps and we often view things differently and want to fist fight on a blog, but that doesn't mean I won't pour you a drink at a party or bar or some place. oh yeah Happy Tuesday everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Taste Day 2

First of all Mike and other that I saw it was nice to see you all. For those of you that I know and didn't see I hope you all had a great time and found some food you liked and didn't break any of my rules from my previous post. It is amazing how many people don't get down on the right back on the right and don't walk towards traffic, with the exception of the circle cause that can be kinda confusing as to where to go. I have to give credit to anyone who is able to do the group thing. It is tough to wait off to the side when someone else is in a line for what can sometime be a long time. The weather was interesting I dressed for cool weather since it was and then it seemed like I was there for about 10 minutes and the sun came out and the wind went away so I was a bit warm. I got one chicken wing from the tap room and it was really good I should have got the bigger size. Then at Tandori I got there kind of wings (baked I think vs smoked and different seasoning) they where so tasty. I went to the Steer twice once to use up my last tickets for cinnamon ice cream and also for an apple crisp that was very good. I tried a lemonade Jack Daniels that was very good. I had Lemon Ice from Anderson's they where out of the loganberry one. I almost forgot this Irish place had Shepard's Pie that was very good. Friday's had some free drink mix that was very good, they mixed it with water or ice and it was very good I wonder what it would taste like with vodka or something else. I somehow all ways missed what ever Dunkin Donuts was giving out except for ice tea once that was good. I also had this Jerk Chicken on Noodles that was pretty good I think the place might have been called Jack's or something like that. I'm sure I'm forgetting something but I hope everyone had a good time and enjoyed there weekend, hey maybe next year they will extend it a block and add like two more booths and that will let there be more space for everyone.

I'm also glad the twins made it and Had a good time, I look forward to seeing other peoples pictures as well. This post is kinda a test to see how the pictures look. I think after this one posts then I can go back and hopefully have time to touch them up and see so for now here they are.

The Stripteasers

Last night I went to see the Stripteasers at I almost wrote Roxy's where they are known to perform but it was at Nietches. Before they went on stage they had two acts. The girl singer I liked, the bear guy (sorry don't remember his name) wasn't really my thing. I did have a good time or maybe it was just all the Alcohol. No It wasn't just the alcohol I did have a good time. I have seen them before at Music is Art and then I think I have also seen them do some stage stuff there also as kinda the last act. I don't know how to describe them other then burlesque and they do little skits. It was a good time I would go again.

maybe I'll go

I have to admit as much as I like music I don't hear enough new music or enough local music. I also admit that I have never made it to Club Diablo. But there is an event there that I'm thinking about going to. Often the problem is on Friday after a long work week I don't feel like going out But this event does sound like it might be fun. Hopefully I make it.

Blogtober fest (2nd post of the day)

So saturday I was running late for everything it seems but I still got to see two movies. The second Movie I saw was Dragon Wars. I really liked it and liked that it had a story line. I did find it kinda funny that the one Dragon looked like a huge Cobra but it was part of the story line that it looked like that. If you like dragons then you will like this movie. The first movie I saw was Mr. Woodcock. Maybe it is just me but I did like it but thought it would be better then it was. It seemed like they may have snuck in that it was a date movie. I don't mean a chick flick but I could be wrong about that. So when I got home came on line and asked if I could tag along to Blogtoberfest with (e:pmt) . Paul got back to me and there was room so to (e:Paul) and to (e:Mike) who drove thanks. I will admit that these pictures won't be in order. I also admit that I'm not sure how the pictures will look. On my camera they all looked bright but on the screen they all look dark so we shall see.

There are a few things that I don't get about what went on. Why was the Blog Tables all the way in the back. If I was going to reserve tables they would be up front near the band. They would also be right near the enterance that way when bloggers walked in they would find it right away I might even put up a sign. I don't think we where the only bloggers there I think that there was no way for use to know the others and vice versa. I wish my pictures of the dancers would have came out better. I'm guessing I wasn't close enough so all the light from the flash just spread out but not sure. After the event Mike got a ticket that so wasn't his fault really. You had all these streets coming together and he did go through a green light but I guess there was a second light that he went through that was red and he almost hit two motorcycles who we later found out where cops. We did get a little lost going to (e:theecarey)'s place but through the use of cell phones got there. That will be my next post. Hopefully Monday Little short on time right now. Hope you enjoy the pictures and hope they are decent hope everyone had a great weekend.

[box] Metallica singer stopped at airport for 'Taliban' beard

07/11/2007 2:00 PM, Yahoo! Music
courtesy of NME.com

Metallica frontman James Hetfield was stopped by security officials at London's Luton Airport for allegedly having a "Taliban-like" beard.

The band was on its way to perform at Live Earth on Saturday (July 7).

Hetfield was briefly questioned by airport officials until they realised who he was. No explanation was given for why he was stopped, but his bandmates speculated that it was due to his beard.

Meanwhile, Metallica's new album is due out in early 2008, with bassist Robertt Trujillo telling Blabbermouth: "There's a lot of everything, man. There's speed on this. There's a couple of tracks where you're gonna go, 'Wow!' and I know you're gonna like it because it has the flavor of the old. But it has this kind of groove and power behind it that I think is us today." [/box]

what is in the above box sounds like it could be old news sort of but it was just on Yahoo's main page but it is a couple days old. But what I find strange is that they are now giving people a hard time based on a beard most likely. The world we are living in is gettting strange.

Today I went to see Tranformers. It was what I expected a big exsplovsive movie. I liked it. That being said I think there are a couple things they could have done better. In robot form the guys should have looked more like what they transformed from. Facialy Megatron didn't look at all like how he did in the cartoon. But I still had a good time.

Next I went to the Italian Heritage Festival. I had a good time but was hampered by the rain but I still got a few pictures and ran into Tony&Megan and talked to them for a few. I never did get that Canolli because of the rain mostly. I had to have some fried dough, then I tried these beef sandwich that was very good and a Steak Kabob.

Taste Update

Last night the bisons lost but I still had a good time. There was this guy named Ruber Boy who performed there. One of his tricks is fitting through a tennis Racket. When I got home from the game I did see Metallica perform one song and then I watched the other two on line this morning.

I had a good time at the taste of Buffalo for the second day in a row. I wanted to see Beatle Magic but I knew that I didn't have the energy to stay for them. My legs where starting to get tired. In terms of (e:peeps) I did see (e:Enknot) before I could say anything we passed each other. Then on my way out I ran into (e:Carolinian) and had a nice chat and he was going to meet (e:Vincent) . Would have been cool to hang out with all four of them but I needed to go home and sit.

I think the name of the band was the Nickel City Pimp Choair

Taste Day 1

So first things first I saw the lovely (e:Beast) and (e:Libertad) at The Taste of Buffalo. Only problem is at the time I was moving quicker then I could react so By the time I knew who it was I went passed them. But I have to give them props. They where doing what more people should do and they where off to the side talking as opposed to the people who just stand and talk and cause a traffic jam. Towards when I was leaving I ran into my sis and she was telling me there is some other festival up by the libary Not sure why I didn't think to go see what those tents where. If you wana have some fun watch the girls at The Steer, they are hot and love to dance.

image
They gave out these strange chips and they tasted really good to.

image
image
As I was leaving they where firing up the engine on this car wish I would have got a shot of that.

image
image
Good thing they stoped tearing this down but it would have been funny if they didn't stop.

Andersons Blue Berry Ice was nice, untill I drop my spoon but I still ate it and still enjoyed it.

image
Sahara's Grill or something like that has a tasty Kabob, there is some name I can't pronounce.

image
image
Great place to get a good cupcake.

image
image

image
this apple crisp I got from Steer (the hot dancing ladies) I was going to use the rest of my tickets on what might be the best deal for 3 tickets at lousies you can get a Hamburger so it might be kinda boaring but so what.

These last 3 pictures are bonus pictures. The motorcycle was on my way home. The two wooden cut outs are on Elmwood in front of nextar and have explainations of them next to them.

image
image
image

Couple side notes. Even though they don't advertise it there is music there so you don't only have to eat. In fact I might want to check out this beatles tribute band on sunday. don't forget there is some literacy fest or something like that near the libary. I think it is where they usaly have thursday at the square. If you need a party to go to (e:Enknot) post about one that sounds like it will be a lot of fun. I think my lame ass will be at home. Don't be lame like me go out tonight and do something. I will be at the Bisons game having a good time. I may have seen (e:chico) not sure if it was him or not speaking of that I saw a few people who looked kinda famlar but that I don't know. Why is that so many don't follow traffic laws when walking. down on the right back on your right just like if you where in a car. Don't stop and look at the food on the other side of the street you will see it when you are on that side of the street pay attention to your side. If you want to stop fine but do so out of the way of traffic. I don't understand why someone doesn't Yell out those rules over a bull horn. It would be a good idea. yes the point is to have fun but you are in a group setting so keep them feet moving even if it is slowly. In terms of Live earth I did see two good performances by AFI (caught the end of it) and The Foo Fighters. This morning I saw Genesis. But I think I missed Metallica, sey they where supposed to be on the UK one. Hopefully there is a way to see them again or maybe even online. Well off to the Bisons game. If I didn't say sorry for not seeing you peeps I saw then sorry.
