The Rasch's

i went to eat at my grandmothers house the other night. While i was there i snapped tis photo of my grandfather, grandmother, uncle and mother. It's perfectly 50's in every way. My grandmother tried very hard to keep it that way, but her two rebellious children had to go be hippies and mess everything up. some one once told me that "everything is better the way it used to be.". I don't know if that's true, but it does ave it's appeal. Anyone else dream in black and white?

I encourage everyone to post some old photos of their families.

Newest House Guest

(e:terry) 's younger sister Alex is staying with us. She, like Terry, is from Las Vegas. So Buffalo's weather is all new to her. Terry has the flu, so (e:paul) and I decided to take the role of Big Brother until terry is feeling better. I just ordered my first pizza. Here is Alex and I trying to find her bag. The airport help was very unhelpful.

PumpkinVille, U.S.A.

Today i went to go get some festive autumn pumpkins out in the country with terry. This was a tradition i had when i was a child (minus the terry part) and this was the first year i did it maybe in 8 years or so. It was fun, but i did notice some things that have changed, or maybe my memories are a bit skewed. The first place we went had beautiful pumpkins, but the cheapest one we could find was $10! thats crazy. and that was for the smallest crappiest pumpkin in the patch. the others were running as high as $20! weird. so we picked out a few small gourds and we were on our way with no pumpkins. We headed in closer to North Collins and we stopped at a farmers market that was selling them for about 29 cents per pound. That's more my price range. But the thing about this place was that all the pumpkins were exactly the same. the same size, the same shape, even the same color. even more weird. I remember when i was kid the most fun thing about picking out the pumpkins was, well... picking out the pumpkins. When they are all the same the fun is stripped right away. oh well. we got 3 nice ones (all the same). Oh, and can't forget the apple cider.
