Interior Inspirations

Here are just a few of the photos i found online that helped inspire my choi=
ces for the side parlor. Most are late Victorian/ turn of the century. It's f=
unny, the first time I saw interiors decorated this way I thought "it's too b=
usy, so much clutter, how can one live like that?" But like everything, the m=
ore I researched the time period the more I understood it, and the more I un=
derstood the era the more I liked it.

Stuffed Birds

I really like stuffed birds. They're beautiful. Not as beautiful as say a real live bird, but I don't think a real pheasant would be happy living in my entrance hall. So I bought a stuffed bird from Harold's Antiques on Allen St. One more item to cross off of my 'old-victorian-things-that-everyone-but-me-finds-creepy' list.

Sicky sick

I hate being sick in the summertime. I caught a bug from the kids at work (I think. I possibly couldve spread it to them). A fever in this heat isn't much fun, to say the least! Hopefully it'll pass soon.

eBay Book

I found a first edition of Shirley Jackson's The Haunting of Hill House (my favorite novel) with dust jacket!! Now if only I had $1,950 to spare. I also found a first edition of her book, The Sundial, which I still haven't read. It's only asking $50. Not bad!
