Office chair & plants

We still need chairs for guests and a coat hook rack.

Our desks have these strange cord keepers with brushes. They meet in the center and then also have little brushes along the window side of the desks. A very strange innovation.

Desks!

We got two beautiful solid wood desks and returns from Buffalo Business Interiors.

The warehouse is HUGE - just ridiculous numbers of identical chairs and desks. Each new giant room was another laugh. It was pretty overwhelming but we waded thru two floors of stuff and found three sets we liked. Well, two sets we both liked and one that I liked. We went with the nicest looking of the two. PartnerTBNL fell in love with a custom $12,000 desk that had been used and refinished and is now selling for $2,500. Oi. Of course, my dream desk is an antique oak one which I'm sure will cost a pretty penny as well.

We're waiting for internet connectivity. And the PartnerTBNL needs a chair.

Office! Code blue

I got the keys to our office today! It's been painted a soft cream. They still need to scrub the rug and clean the windows. I'm so excited! Looking forward to the PartnerTBNL to get back and officially become my partner so we can move in for real! One of my PA clients framed my diploma so that will have wall space. The sky light outside office door provides even more natural light. It's gorgeous.

Love the cantina loco sign!

Also, Code Blue at Allen & North Pearl looks like it is ready to open.

Office!

Allen Street Consulting found an office! It's perfectly located, perfect size, perfect lighting, perfect price. I'm so excited!! It's currently painted saturated (e:strip) colors but (thankfully) they're going to repaint.

But I would paint the walls that verdant greenish gold of i2 if possible. :) I don't like furniture too much and prefer everything on the floor. I LOVE the idea of complete glass walls because then you can have nature paint the walls for you and it would be everchanging and never white. Whatever sparse furniture I would like to have, I want it to be a matte orange. I did try to get the orange shade for my current table but only white was available. My second choice was black but that was not available in the size I could carry on the plane.

What is ironic about all that? :)

Olive (army green) is my least favourite shade of green along with certain toxic looking fluorescent greens (which I like to call mausoleum green). I admit I like more leafy warm bright saturated greens with yellow gold thrown in... and most shades of orange.

I happen to like white and the airy spaciousness it gives. I suggested the partnerTBNL could choose a non-orange trim color. I can't imagine that it's going to feel impersonal; we've already got a bunch of stuff on our walls in the current office. We're going to have lots of plants, too. West facing windows! (And air conditioning.)

one of my favourite professors has that green on his walls. I always lingered on in his office just a little longer because it's just so awesome. I cannot make out what exact shade of green that is but I would like it more saturated and more bright.

Ugh... almost done with this stupid access db and I need to make a form print two copies and stop having a blank second page (which may just be from imperfectly arranged fields. Here's the code:

Laptop set up

Is so tedious. I want to take it with me already but it has to be able to do anything I need while I'm out & about. So far I like it a lot. It's so light! I wish it had an external volume control (standard on toshibas).

West Side Bazaar now open!

Follow up to (e:heidi,53710) & (e:heidi,50973)

The West Side Bazaar opened Thursday, March 3, at 242 Grant Street, Buffalo, NY 14213 (between Guercio's and Sweetness 7) with seven vendors representing Peru, Nepal, Palestine, Rwanda, Sudan, and the West Side of Buffalo. Here are some pix of the wares.

Martha Sosa is a Peruvian chef. She made wings... Peruvian style.

But of course I didn't have any... I had this salad and for as much as I dislike lima beans, it was really good. I'd eat more lima beans if they tasted like this.
